Mine works fine with the stock charger. I use it often that way as I leave it sit on a stand next to my recliner while it's charging and answer txts or check facebook. The cheap Cellit charger I got online did screw things up tho. The cord felt like it was flimsy and maybe had a short near the micro plug.
