if everyone were always happy with their phones, there would be no ppcgeeks, xda, mobile underground, crackberry, etc. some folks have problems, we try to help . because of these 1000s of threads, htc is looking at the phone now!

Re: too much criticism!

I have had this phone for 5 days now and it hasn't offered to touch my naughty bits once! What a rip off!

Seriously, I'm with you OP. This blows away any phone I've owned to date by a mile. Let the nit pickers pick their nits but in the long run, the bar has been reset. For the moment nothing beats the capabilities of this phone.

Re: too much criticism!

I AGREE. I definitely have run into some issues with the EVO, but by far, the BEST phone I've owned. I definitely have not had the need to hate on it. Glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking the negativity was a little extreme...

Re: too much criticism!

Every phone I know of has had an issue...it's just the pure fact that nothing is perfect. The Iphone when it first came out had horrible battery life, the TP was horrible, the TP2 made it better....but everyone seems to find the negitive in something they purchase. These issue will get resolved in time, and it already shows...this phone had 3 revisions already and it hasn't even been a month...that shows me HTC is working hard at correcting the issues, and improving upon there product.

I have seen and heard all the issues with the Evo so far, and in comparision they arn't really that bad. The grounding issue is a easy fix within HTC, the battery life and tweaking of the OS/Patches should rectify itself in time. People just love to find the worst and point it out...yeah...it sucks...but don't come crying here about it....call HTC, or Sprint and let them know, without them these issues wouldn't get handled....

I have always been one to wait it out a few months before purchasing a new device. 1st rounders generally are the ones that pop up problems, and then HTC goes to the drawing board to rectify the issue and improve...yeah it sucks for all you guys out there that had to have it at launch day...but all you have to do is take it in to the store and get it fixed..

I have already seen improvements within the past 2 builds of this phone, light bleeding seems to have been fixed, screen grounding seems to be less of a issue, screen pulling up in corner, etc all seem to have been relsolved...

Just give it some time, and wait it out...I am, and I feel ok about it....since ya know, all I have to do is drive down the street and get my playtime on a demo...till the day I buy the Evo...

Re: too much criticism!

Lets not overlook the fact that these forums are for phone junkies(nothing wrong with that), so they are very particular; they will find something wrong with every new phone(nothing wrong with that either).
Go on any forum for any product, and usually the members are very in tune with whatever it is they are talking about. When something new comes out; the people that have the new items tell everyone how it is great or crap, and the people that do not have the new item, usually just say it is crap or talk about how bad they want the new item.

Enjoy your day, I am enjoying my new phone, if something happens to it, I will get a new one and continue to enjoy my life; with or with out it.

One can only hope

I've had a PPC6700, mogal, touch pro, and touch pro 2. This phone has slaughtered each one of them in pretty much every aspect IMO. So I'm perfectly pleased and could care less if anyone else doesn't like it !LoL!

Now with the custom ROMs coming out, it just keeps getting better

Very true but its gonna be a frustrating clusterfack up until then. Especially for those that have been around a while and have seen this same crap on every phone they have owned. Ok, Putting blinders up for now. I got my aggression out.

Re: too much criticism!

EVO = Best. Phone. Ever.

Nokia 5160i = 2nd. Best. Phone. Ever

Criticism does better justice when it is unbiased, intuitive and insightful. It's a development tool that it very often over indulged...

I had 3 WinMo devices...Mogul, TouchPro, and TouchPro2. I lived with the limitations...and enjoyed the flexibility. Thank goodness for PPCGeekers!!! Done cooked my own ROMs...but when I moved to Android and the EVO...I was ready.

The screen lifting (I have a very slight case)...the battery life is sad...but I'll deal. Honestly...most of us remember the pains HTC put us thru with those phones I mentioned above.

I love my EVO...I enjoy the reactions I get when I pull the monster out of my pocket...I enjoy doing a quick demo to show that it definitely NOT an iPhone!

i would have to agree with you on this---my first EVO had problems and i really stuck with it until i had to exchange it, but HTC seemed to have fixed the prior issues so ppl have to give it time, sure i hated the battery life but its been proven that there are in fact some bad apples---but with thousands being made it should be expected, supply and demand versus quality is the issue. im happy with the one they exchanged for me, so far i have no complaints, i may not be ready for rooting but its an option i am glad thats out there.
