Re: All HTC Evo Battery Perfomance Talk

although I think my numbers are a bit skewed (I'll explain...) I do get close to 20 hours from full charge to less than 10%. These are what I have as widgets that updates:

facebook
touiteur (twitter)
engadget
espn scorecenter
google news
weather channel

I have gmail pushed...and I occasionally run a live wallpaper (but not for the 20 hour run)

phone calls approx. 1.5 hours
texts 30-45
browser 30-40 min

I am rooted, am running CM6 latest nightly build, custom snap v5 kernal...am using SetCPU to overclock and undervolt, running juicedefender to keep data off while screen is off (it does turn on data 1 min for every 15 min to keep things updated) I also have the 1750 battery from Seidio...maintaining the form factor...but gives me a bit more juice under the hood.

Re: Battery life vs. Touch Pro 2?

My phones been off the charger for almost 33 hours with 49% battery left. I only have facebook refreshing every 4 hours and have weather at 3 hours and gmail. It really sips battery when the phone is asleep. I used it some last night for some texting and web browsing but it was a busy night so I didn't get to play with it as much as usual. I was only down to 70% and that was almost 24 hours ago now. Haven't used it much since then but I've had the wifi turned on since I got home. Just trying to see what kind of battery life I can get if I don't play with it constantly. So far it's looking good, I was also trying to see how it is without a task killer and it seems to be doing fine.

Anyone else having trouble getting their phone to charge? My car charger and home charger both will not keep up anymore with the phone if its on.

Re: All HTC Evo Battery Perfomance Talk

I have everything on as it came out of the box. 4G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. I run the Wifi so I can get iHeartRadio to connect, since Froyo. (btw-once connected, you can turn off WiFi)
I am running the Seidio 3500mAh battery. Seems that my greatest use of this device is watch full-length movies. FB, weather and mail refresh to their defaults.
Last night, I watched about 20 minutes of a movie in bed (on battery) and then fell asleep with phone not on the charger. Woke up and had 95%.

If you don't mind the little thicker phone (about the same as my Mogul) and want to just forget about the battery, the Seidio 3500 is what's happening.

I totally get where you're coming from...especially when you don't want to root and install apps AND flash custom kernals to have a healthy batt life. There are lots of folks (myself included) that actually enjoy the "thin" form factor that the HUGE EVO has to offer. I use the 1750 from Seidio...with all my apps, custom kernal, and custom ROM...I have over 30 hours of stand by time. With moderate use I get 20+hours without dipping into the 20% range.

Re: Battery life vs. Touch Pro 2?

I just found this link regarding JuideDefender and in my opinion, I give it two thumbs up! It does help increase battery life for me, and according to the program I am averaging about 2 times better life length.

Re: All HTC Evo Battery Perfomance Talk

My battery life has been getting shorter and shorter (since my July purchase), in the last few weeks it was down to under 2 hours, yikes!.

I've tried all the forum suggestions but nothing helped. So, last week I went to Sprint and complained. The tech started off by saying I needed a Task Manager, I explained that I had alredy tried one but based on everything I'd read online that I didn't believe that it would work. He said don't believe what you see online and that he was a Sprint tech so I should believe him. He then showed me his phone and I noticed his battery monitor it was in the red? (at noon) hmmm!.

So, anyway he then checks my phone and he says it's fine. I said less than 2 hours is an issue and if a Task Manager was really the answer would'nt HTC and/or Sprint have provided one?. To that he said "well if you want I can give you a new battery!". I took the new battery and guess what my phone has now lasts the whole day now and it's usally about 80% when I put it on the charger at night.... WhaaHoo!!!! Hope this lasts

But based on this I would think that in my case anyway 1) it's a hardware battery issue, and 2) Sprint can't diagnose it.

Re: All HTC Evo Battery Perfomance Talk

Any way to clear battery stats without going in to Recovery and wiping battery stats? I just flashed a new ROM and Kernal and want to clear battery stats to see how it is really doing. Thanks in advance

Just got my evo on the 2nd of this month, have everything on it as it came out of the box as well. I only have weather refreshing every 4 hours and two email accounts refreshing every 3 hours. I am a moderate user (30-40 texts, 2 hrs web surfing, 1.5-2 hrs talk). Took it off the charger on Sat (Sep 4th) at 8am EST and it is now Mon (Sep 6th) at 1:50pm EST and I still have 25% left. I dont have ATK installed though as it is not working with Froyo 2.2. Bottom line is, it really depends on what you have running.

Re: All HTC Evo Battery Perfomance Talk

I highly recommend the 3500 Milli amp battery from seidioonline.com
7am - 11pm, heavy use (maps, rss feeds, phone calls, interned, apps) only gets to 50%

After buying this extended battery, I dont have any issues with battery life anymore. its just about impossible to kill the battery. BUY IT
