Had that not actually happened at an AT&T store a month ago I would be laughing.

Right, crazy story. Once again, mine was all based on fiction. I will go back and put a disclaimer.

Re: [GUIDE] Fix your light leaking EVO

I think the light leakage will exist on most evos. I think it is more of a design flaw. It may be fixed in future production, but if you go get another one, it will likely have the same problem. I knew this going in because it is mentioned in the engadget review, and they have a picture of it. Under the section labeled hardware: http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/19/htc-evo-4g-review/

Screen separation is a whole other issue though.

Said correctly. Getting another phone may not solve the issue, however that is not why this guide was written, it was written as a solution for those who wish to fix it themselves. I have zero light leakage after using this method and it took a whole 2 minutes to perform.

Good write up, but I'm just not a fan of doing things sprint will do for me. Considerate a service charge for the 4g charge that we don't get to use.
You need to add Step 4.5

4.5 Wait two weeks until your Sprint Store has more in stock.

Re: [GUIDE] Fix your light leaking EVO

nice, fix. ill wait to see how it holds up, if the phone gets hot, what are the odds of it 'liqifying' back? i gotta case so it hugs the egdes, so the light leak doesnt show, and it holds the screen in place. win/win/

Re: [GUIDE] Fix your light leaking EVO

I just have to say, that its no wonder we are paying a stupid $10 monthly premium for these things... it isn't for the 4G, it is because so many people take back their phones and whine when it isn't 100% perfect. Its one thing to take it back within the 30 days and say you just didn't like it and be on your way... but it is another thing to go in weekly to get it replaced at the mere thought of an issue. Oh, there is a spec on my back cover... thats a QC issue... I want it replaced. There are so many people doing crap like this that it makes me sick. I can understand with screen separation, but that whole light leakage thing is just going too far. Thanks for being the reasons for me paying a useless $10 monthly fee.

So you're saying that sprint knew that people were gonna return the phone so they charged $10 extra. The only way they would know that it would be returned is if they already knew about these defects. You ok with that?

Don't you guys know that the $10.00 fee is for the hugely awesome amazingly spectaularly brilliant big screen. That's what Sprint told me so you know it has to be true. HA!
