How do you know if your phone is sleeping or not?

Re: I finally got my evo to sleep.

check your battery info, if "up time" and "awake time" are the same, you're phone is an insomniac.

Thanks! Apparently my phone has a bottle of sleeping pills hidden somewhere...it sleeps - deeply!

Re: I finally got my evo to sleep.

Up time: 4:31:54
Awake time: 4:25:50

Fook me, maybe that's what's been killing my battery over the past few days. Any chance it's also what's causing the random resets? Maybe the phone is trying to sleep and is crashing and restarting?

Hard reset seem to be working as a fix or no? I'm tempted to just root if I have to hard reset anyway...

Since any changes you might have made are saved to the SD card I would clear the card first. First you would want to back everything on your computer. Once the card is clean (nothing on it) then take note of your up time and awake time. Turn the display off (click power button) and leave it of for about five minutes. then turn the display back on and see if the up time and awake time ratio is any better.

Re: I finally got my evo to sleep.

i use an app called "gentle alarm" which has a setting for preventing Deep Sleep. disabling this feature allowed my device to sleep again. not sure if you guys run the same alarm app, but its something to look for. while you are thinkin about the issue, think about what apps you having running constantly that may have a similar feature.
