Re: Screen May Be Coming Off
I have version 2 and do not have the lifting issue. I will keep watching for it though. My bet is that sprint / htc will deal with this accordingly when they can. These phones have a standard warantee of a year, so dont sweat it too much. They likely will not want to face a class action lawsuit. So they will not put it off much longer. They will likely only deal with obvious cases though.

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off
No phone is ever perfect...they all have flaws in some way or another. TP2 for example has the send key that is a bit off...all TP2 users know of it....doesn't really bother me. If your one that wants to take it back to Sprint, make sure they notate your account that you came in within your 30 days, and so you get a "New" device instead of a refurb. They will try to send you out a refurb if it's not notated...so do that and make sure it's done correctly.
Letting HTC/Sprint know about this issue is the best bet...without them knowing about it they will never fix the issue...and from what it seems..is that it's a minor issue with the adhesive that holds down the screen...something the Tech department at the Sprint store can fix once HTC releases how to fix it. The other issues with the phone are being delt with...but the same applies...notifiy HTC/Sprint...the more notifications they get about the issue, the faster the problem will be resolved...posting in here looking for a shotty workaround isn't the way to go. From everything I've seen...this phone has been through atleast 3 revisions so far since release...which shows HTC knows and is in the process of fixing each issue that crops up. I personally still have my TP2...and until early August or mid August I won't be purchasing it...one due to 1st gen...2ndly because my Premier upgrade isn't till then. |

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off
Just checked the Sprint site and it says that they have Evos available online. I might try calling CS and see if I can get a new device.

EDIT: Hmm, they asked if I bought it at a Sprint Store or Online. Bought on Ebay so they said take it back to the store. Should I just lie and say I bought it online so they will send one to me? Last edited by rooster94; 06-16-2010 at 11:54 AM. |

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off
Yeah thats what I figured. I called product support and they said that they had no record of it ever being purchased, in store or online which apparently means it came from a different warehouse. Damn I/O phones.

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off
I have hardware version 003 and purchased my phone last Friday. I saw the lifting issue and light leak on Monday. I purchased my phone from Radio Shack and called Sprint anyway and told the woman about my problem just to inform her. I wasn't planning on returning my phone through them and she gave me a support ticket right away and told me to go to a Sprint service center and they would take care of this because, "this is somewhat of a known issue," according to her. I'm going on my lunch break today and will post results when I return.
