Re: Screen May Be Coming Off

Auugh !!! I just noticed that the bottom of my screen has started to lift… have a 002 version… Spoke with a sprint rep and she stated that they just received an email from HTC today in regards to the screeen issue: they are aware of the problem and the screen lift is purely cosmetic and should not have any dust intrusion or effect the overall performance of the phone…And if the screen is lifting up it is due the person handling the phone and not a defect. In essence, HTC is saying the phone is meant to be looked at and not handled, deal with it! The sprint rep was nice enough to say, I can't suggest goig back to the point of sale and getting a replacment, but if I was you ad still within My 30 days I would....

I want to hear more about this. If I have to I will take it back to Radio Shack on Friday. I'm assuming more will be coming in. I saved links to this issue on my phone so I can show anyone who claims, "they haven't heard anything about it." I don't understand how they can say it is due to a person handling the device. How else are we supposed to handle it? I don't throw it or twist it like a rag. I barely even put it in my pocket. Cop out. If I can see light, it isn't cosmetic. It's a hole.

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off

When I spoke to the sprint rep, she said the spill about it being purely cosmetic, and then she asked me where my screen was lifting. After I told her on the bottom left side she put me on hold. When she came back on the line that is when she stating that the lift per HTC was is due the person handling the phone and not a defect. So, there must be some verbiage in that email HTC about lifts on the bottom of the unit....

Sounds like you got the run around, so are you suppose to not touch the phone so it does not happen, (not picking on you but CS).

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off

I don't see how they can justify saying it's not an issue when it is a product flaw of something that they built. If a car company builds a car and paint starts falling off 10 days after you bought it, you better beleive that they would make it right. I feel bad for those who have significant screen problems as the phone is pretty much impossible to get right now due to demand.

**Can anyone start posting some photos of the screen problems?

I like your analogy. I would compare it more to the hood popping up on your car and having the manufacturer tell you it was due to driving it on roads. Like I said, if you can see light, there's a hole.

Re: Screen May Be Coming Off

I'll post a video of my problem. You can see the light go away once I push on the bottom of the screen. Also didn't have any grounding issues when I got the phone once the screen started coming up I have the grounding issue. Mine look like the picture below only I have light coming out four places one for each button! The video didn't pick it up.

Here it is. It is very bad quality as this was very hard to capture on video.

Wow! Thats some serious light leakage you have going on. I had a very slight amount on the bottom which I solved with the plasti-dip method but that is just plain unacceptable.

I can see an extremely slight amount of light leakage on the left side of the screen which measures about 1 inch that start near the bottom left corner and goes up but there is no screen lift whatsoever (knocking on wood).
