Lol @ 35% battery left 3 hours into my work day. Wtf is that ? Def not reliability thats 4 sure. Every setting is equal to what is recomended to save power ... did all that charging b.s, checked that cdma auto thing out. I tried oc widget n every other damn thing. Except hard reset. I dont play that hard reset sh!t on a normal basis so i hope that helps the 1 time if it comes down to it. Idk how many of u use the device for buisness but not always being near an outlet for juice n trying to work, while needing a reliable device is a must. I am hoping sum1 finds the fix.

Re: Possible battery fix from HTC!

running 14 hours with about 3 hours of awake time at 19% now- did this on off charge 2ce - along with some sync disabling and installed Advanced Task Killer to Kill aggressively things that i do not use like the sprint software and voice dialer but setup things i always use in the "ignore" list so that it wouldnt kill those things.

before i installed Launcher pro - i got over 24hrs even with the Htc weather animation on the home screen.

things i synced every 2 hours were
google gmail mail and nothing else
facebook contacts and unchecked live feed
weather

i too on my first few days had around 4 hours of battery time with light use - text mostly and app instals with some camera pics.
i first didnt want to install the task killer - BUT AFTER i did all the disabling of the live sync stuff my battery still didnt have the 10 hour use like others did.. after i installed the tasK killer and set it up to kill apps i do not run nor that i thought were somehow linked to eachother - i got over 24hours plus on a charge while sending out lots of text - watching HD you-tube surfing numerous websites downloading apps configuring my pages - all at about 8 hours of awake time.

HTC confirmed there is a problem with the battery.

1. Their suggestion is to charge it while on until the light turns green.

2. immediately turn it off and charge it again until it turns green.

3. and once again immediately turn it back on and charge it again till green.

Repeat that process until the on and off charge are both green..

Here is the link to the other thread.

http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-4g/...y-fix-htc.html
This seemed to have worked for me I followed the instructions and then used it all day then that next morning it was fully charged I shut it off and the light stayed green (didn't the first time) turned it on and light was green still ( wasn't the first time). Battery seems to last much better during the first 40%...

Re: Possible battery fix from HTC!

just performed the task in the first post....charged till it was indicated full 4 times each...after that it indicated full charge the 5th time I turned the phone on and re inserted the charger. Took maybe 30 min after the phone first indicated it was fully charged.

I diddnt have what I perceived as a problem with battery life, but rather I assumed the short life was because I use it a lot. I happened to keep track yesterday. I started using my evo at approx 12:50 pm and it made it to almost 7 oclock with very steady use playing music, 3g radio and gps radios on the whole time, and some 4g action while performing some speed tests. I used the phone until it actually ran empty. I wonder how the phone will perform now that it seems actually fully charged now.

theres actually a new version of it in the market that when installed will change the old version icon from orange to blue.

i use it to call others who have the evo. it just loads faster - its not really "ACTIVE" .

you can go into its setting to adjust its sync.
