Re: Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
do you have it set up twice meaning did you set it up Google sync and email? Gmail gets setup with Google sync so if you set it up threw email then you have it setup up twice. It needs to only be setup via Google sync. It took me a bit to figure that out and get used to it . This is also were the gmail email icon comes in handy .

Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
Settings > Accounts and Sync > (your account) > Uncheck sync Gmail (you'll need to click sync now every time you want to do it manually)

Home > Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Always-on mobile data Also, while you are in that Mobile Networks menu, if you get good sprint signal where you live/work (meaning no roaming), click on Roaming, and select "Sprint Only". I just reported in a Root + OC Widget - 40+ hrs battery life that I am able to get 32.5 hours of battery life. This is with normal usage. Turning off mobile data doesn't effect receiving emails through the gmail app, and your battery will last much longer when in standby.
