Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
You have both the gmail app and the "mail" app set to replicate your gmail. Go to Settings->Accounts&Sync and change the settings for "Google" or "Exchange ActiveSync" so that only one (take you pick for which you like better) is syncing.

Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
Did you setup a second mail manager like K-9?

Thanks, I was having the same problem, as I would delete any junk mail and then I would have to do it again as it would still have the icon showing that I had mail in my inbox when I had already deleted them

Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
This is Google including a GMAIL only application and a seperate app for all types of accounts....
I'm not sure if the GMAIL specific app is better than using just the other or not? Haven't really noticed any differences.... |

Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
Its not really them replecating things. Once you setup your phone, your GMAIL is already synced. if you set up that same email address as a POP account, you'll get two notifications. The GMAIL app doesn't give you options to save attachments or forward emails, so I don't like it. It does come as items arrive, vs waiting for the account to sync.

Re: Gmail reseiving twice, why?
The gmail app notifies you almost the instant you receive a gmail email. The mail app does not notify you instantly (at least this was my experience when I used it back on Android 1.5). It will notify you on the frequency you set (I think 15 minutes is the lowest refresh setting).
