Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

I know this is a bit off topic, and I don't have the Evo yet..but I figured I would ask before I get it....

If I root, and end up having a issue with my phone....How would I go about un-rooting it? Just re-flash the ROM on the phone? Anyone know? I know it's like putting a Cooked ROM on a WM phone...and how it can void your Manf and Sprint warranty...but I just want some clarification on what and how to do it.

Thanks!

Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

this works flawlessly!!! I've not charged my phone since last night and still have 42% battery!!

I barely have signal in my office so im roaming all day long. I have been here for 3 hours and by now my fully charged Evo would be dead, but not anymore!!!

Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

I tried this last night. I took my phone off the charger at 11:30pm and woke up at 7:30 and still had 92%. I had email being pushed to two accounts, for some reason I kept getting texts throughout the night, my koi fishes swimming in the background, and lastly twitter and facebook updating.

Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

Wait, aren't we breaking an Apple "patent" by underclocking the CPU for battery savings????

Jobs is going to sue us all.

On a separate note, I did this... Isn't working too well. I took the phont off the charger less than 3 hrs ago and already around 80%.

Re: Root + OverclockWidget = Insane Battery Life 40+ Hours

I think these results are very very misleading. if you use your phone a lot this will not really help you at all as it only underclocks when the screen is off. Honestly, who cares if your battery doesn't drain overnight when you are not using the phone and its asleep? Most people charge their phone overnight anyway. The real test is to see how it affects the battery during the daytime when you are using it. Yesterday, without this installed and no ATK, I got 13 hours out of my battery, which i think is great. I saw this thread last night and got excited, charged the battery to 100% and installed it. When I woke up I was at about 93%. I haven't done much of anything, no web, no text, no music, just installed a few app updates and I'm at 70% 2 hours later. That tells me this process did what it says it will do, save battery when the phone is asleep, but in terms of real world battery saving, it wont do much for you.
