Re: Does your EVO "sleep"? How do I put it in sleep mode?

k9 just over took calendar as the number 1 cause of "partial wake" but even so, the meter is like 1 cm long and the total time is 3m 12 s. my "running" is still 100% and my screen on time is now under 8%. I don't think it's being woken up, I think it's never going to sleep... Can someone else getting terrible battery life chime in here and tell me if your phone is sleeping and still getting bad battery? I'm watching my battery life tick down..

Okay I've uninstalled a bunch of stuff but I can't seem to figure out why my phone won't sleep... ANY input would be helpful, this is 100% the cause of bad battery life (at least in my case) and maybe the issue for many more..

My evo won't sleep either. I've had it for about 2 weeks, and this just started a few days ago. I had only downloaded a couple apps, and none the day it started not sleeping. I've deleted them anyway and it made no difference. I checked out the partial wake thing, and there is nothing keeping it awake for more than a few minutes. I don't know where I should go from here with it

Turn off syncing for the Facebook app, then restart, and check again.

Google in Accounts and sync settings should be set as follows~ never sync, never sync, never sync when you open the program Gmail will sync, otherwiseyou will notice there is no sync schedule google has it running constantly at least that's what I found with my phone. I can get 15 to 20 hours out of this phone on 1 charge.
might be worth a try. please post your results...

Only solution that worked was a hard reset... The problem came after the first OTA, hard reset, no more problem.

Thanks Jared, I tried turning off Facebook sync, and auto sync for everything else, still not sleeping... any other ideas?

Is the phone's up time and awake time still the same? Have you left it screen-off overnight yet?

I've not heard of any problems other than the Facebook sync issue... If all else fails, you could root and go for a new ROM.

Yup, up and awake time are still the same, I rebooted twice today and turned off all auto sync stuff. What do you mean screen off over night? I leave it alone and let it charge at least 9 hrs overnight if that's what you mean.

Usually "Talk" services are the culprit. Have you disabled them?? I'm looking now on exactly how.
