My contacts from google pop up but there is no Phone #'s

i did i went to google and deleted all my contacts then resynced

This is gonna suck but the only way to fix this is to log on to your Gmail account and click contacts > click the export tab > select the Everyone and Vcard format circles. > then export it. > once saved to your computer connect you EVO to the computer as a usb drive > take the contacts.vcf file and put it on your sd card > once the file is on your sd card, unplug it from the usb and click the People widget.> next hit menu > click the import/export tab > then import from sd. Sound long but simple.

Now this is where it suck, You will have to copy and paste the number from the notes section!!!! WTF!!!!

So what I'm doing now is whenever I recieve a call or make a call to someone in my contacts I just copy and paste from there or if they call jus add to existing. Yea I know, wtf.

Can't you try recreating the contact on your gmail account and resyncing? Or export all your contacts like you did, then delete all of them ( from gmail ) and then re-import them to gmail...then resync?

There has to be a better/easier way to do it. Why in the world would your contacts numbers not show up all of a sudden? Did you install something? I just can't see this being something other than that.... how did you get you contacts to gmail in the first place? Did they show up earlier?

Are you coming from WM?
If you are coming from WM it sounds that when you got your contacts to google that the fields were messed up and the phone # was placed in the notes field rather than the # field

Yea, I came from a TP2 and all my # were changed to notes. So, I still have the numbers, just in the wrong field (notes). I'm pretty pissed. I guess copy and paste is better then manually doing them.

ahh gotcha..

there probably is a way to just change the field from notes to phone #... I havent had a chance to open up the csv file to edit it...

but least cut n paste is easier like you said... keep truckin

Your phone numbers are there but are not in the correct fields if you look at it in excel. Just copy and paste them from excel to the correct fields.

i had same problem but fixed it in 30min using a similar method already listed. I sync'd all contacts with gmail. On phone, set all the numbers, (fax, mobile, home, etc) for a contact and resyn'd. This showed me which fields android wanted to use for mobile numbers and such. I then resync'd with gmail. I exported my contacts file to .csv and opened it in excel. I looked for the contact that was set up correctly in my phone and just copied numbers from the wrong fields to the correct ones, resync'd, boom...done.

Im having the worse luck with the google sync. When they sync it only goes to favorites and not people. Now I've synced 3 times and have 3 duplicates only in the favorites. Only have 5 "people" in my phone and thats from me entering them in there. Cant even use the favorite card if I wanna drop message someone. Whats going on here?
