I've also read it may take several attempts....

concerned but eager!

Let me put it this way, it is harder to make a video about it, post it on youtube, it's even easier than actually watching the video..

+1 unrevoked 3.21

Re: Scared "rootless" to root my EVO : )

Thanks for the quick reply....another question; I've seen/heard that I should force closed any anti-virus programs on my phone, I use Lookout. Is this necessary and when all of this rebooting occurs, Lookout will automatically turn on, will this mess up the process?

Personally I don't see a reason for slowing down my phone with security/antivirus... YMMV

To be honest, I wanted Lookout for the tracking and backup and wasn't aware of the anti-virus until I installed. I had been thinking about removing it and using Prey for tracking only.

thanks for your reply!

Make sure you have the files listed and be patient, cause there are those moments when you think nothing is happening and goodness, it really is still doing its thing.

First I'd like to thank all of you who replied to my scared a$$ questions but I got it done! I can't believe actually how simple it was, I feel like a beyotch for sweating it the way that I did Thanks to those others who have patience with us green horns From what I gather I am FULLY rooted and can now start exploring ROM Land, with baby steps of course!

thanks!

Rooting for the first time is the hardest part (all mental). Flashing roms is the easy part. I'm currently running a stock rooted rom, with Superuser, and busy box installed. I'm waiting on 4G to be cracked in CM6, because that will be ported over to the MIUI rom, and then I will go with the MIUI for full functionality.

Roms are like Lay's Chips...betcha can't flash just one!!!

Re: Scared "rootless" to root my EVO : )

I did get a little tight in the cheeks there for a minute because it seemed to take longer than I saw in some of the videos. I admit that I did forget to remove the HTC Sync first before starting unrevoked3 and wondering why the screen was just looking at me. I quickly figured that out remembering then to remove it, after that it was butta!
