Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

I continue to be mostly impressed with the battery life. Past three days with moderate use I have gotten between 11 and 16 hours before I placed it on the charger. Never has the phone shut off because of a dead battery or such. If it continues like this I probably won't waste a dime on a spare battery unless I will be without charging capabilities for a long period of time (which is doubtful).

I just installed ATK for the first time and will mess with it to see if I can even extend the battery out even further.

Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

battery is gonna stuck... HTC being cheap as they are and not willing to develop a battery for the EVo they shove the battery from the TP2 in the EVo... way undersized battery for such a high-features phone. (4+ inch screen, dual LEDs, etc,etc)..

you can put a 4ghz CPU in it, but it all means nothing if you barely get a day of battery usage without having to carry multiple batteries.

imo this phone needed at least a 1800mAh battery, the EVo is big enough device where they could of made the battery width/length slightly larger without making it thicker.

it's time they design a new battery...

This isn't really a HTC issue. It's a battery issue in general. Electronics advances have far outpaced battery technology. While yes, a battery with some more capacity would have been a welcome addition, I think we should be directing our frustrations towards battery makers to give us batteries that last longer, and that are smaller in size.

Agreed. Also Seidio makes a 1750mah battery for the EVO that fits in the stock door/cover.

I rooted early this morning and downloaded overclock widget from the android market because my battery would die before I could get home from work which from disconnecting the charger to coming home would be roughly a 13 hr day,and today after rooting and that widget I made it home and still had half a battery charge left I'm sure if I tweaked the widget more I could have easily gone in to late night with out charging, needless to say I'm happy, I get to use the phone to its full capacity with out having to worry about a dead battery before I get home.

I didnt want to root but it may turn out to be worth it.

Nice. I think we'll all root since we're bound to get bored of this phone eventually

Re: battery = horrible less than 4 hours standby

I haven't seen much discussion about the differences between the TP2(which is standard Lithium Ion battery) and the EVO(which is a Lithium Polymer). Does the EVO have a different charging circuit, or the Li-Po will charge just fine on anything? could this be some of the battery drop off that some are seeing first thing?

I live in Kansas City and the 4G network here is AWESOME! The speed was on par if not better than my home computer running high speed. I have never seen anything like it on a phone. I now surf the web on my evo more than my laptop! Trust me folks, when you get the 4G coverage it is so worth it!!
