totally agree with both of you guys. I really feel like a noob myself and want to enjoy the phone a little bit before I decide to root it. coming from the constant flashes of windows mobile, I can use the break to be honest. lol.

I did install the update when it popped up the notification. If you cancelled it, you can go to home > menu > settings > system updates > HTC software update.

so... it has been confirmed that the update will not ruin my chance of being able to root?

actually the only reason i wanna root is so i can install apps/games to my sd card and get free wifi router... i wish i could do those without root!

Go into each app, and set the notification sound, via menu > settings.

wow thanks for that! i was wayyyyy off... any idea why i can do it for gmail and txt but not my hotmail accnt? it only gives me the option to turn sound on or off now change the song.

I've never used any other email account, other than gmail on my android phones. But it doesn't make sense to not be able to change the notification sound, considering it's in almost any other app that that can send notifications.

<------ proud of my self... this is the firs thing I have been able to figure out on my own.

I had to go into the phones sound settings and change it to what i want hotmail to be then i can change gmail and sms within there native apps.

I installed advanced app killer and it keeps showing apps that are opened that I revered used. Anybody know why this is? Or if this is normal?
