Shell.
Normally, I'd agree w/ you. But in this case, I'm guessing you haven't purchased from monoprice before.
While their cables and adapters seem too inexpensive to be worth anything, I've never had an issue w/ them. I use to buy the cheap charges and cables from ebay China, but after continually having to replace them I looked elsewhere. That's when I discovered monoprice.

Plus the fact that they are down the street from me and I can pick up everything on will call, doesn't hurt.

Thanks for posting that. I read about why the micro was better than the mini when they announced the new standard a long time ago, but forgot about it. I did know it was supposed to last longer too.

Re: Posting from my $400 Evo

The micro-usb change is a non factor for me. Sure, it's another cable to have laying around but between my iPod, PS3 controllers, Nikon CoolPix, LG bluetooth headset, TP2 cable and my Dad's Droid (Which is the same) it doesn't affect me much.

If you REALLY want to always have the right charger just get a multipurpose cord.

Images and video? I saw this post and was decently satisfied.

The frame rate was MUCH better in the video posted there than on TheBundo's shot in low lighting.
I almost cried when I saw the video posted here. God was that choppy! I wonder how much it would help to lower the resolution?

Like most here, I am upgrading from a Touch Pro 2. I love the TP2 hardware but I feel like I'm dragging my feet with Windows Mobile 6.5. My Dad got the Droid last week and I set it up for him and was very impressed. My best reaction was "Wow, it actually works? I'm not use to that."

In comparison, the experience of accomplishing your daily tasks with the Evo to the TP2, was there any inconsistencies? From both a hardware and software aspect?

From you previous post I get this:
  • On-screen keyboard works, but not as easy to use a phyiscal keyboard.
  • Capacitive Screen takes getting use to.
  • Picture and Video is mediocre, but still better than most. (I understand the who megapixel concept well, I shoot with my friend's Nikon D90 ALL the time. It's all about the lenses!) I usually tell people anything bigger than 5 or 6mp isn't worth it for the general 'family photo, shoot and print' consumer.
  • Copy-Paste can be problematic.

This may not be the most fool proof way of doing this. But on a scale of one to 10, rating both the Evo and the Touch Pro 2 in it's ability to satisfy your essential routines. What score would each of them get?

Re: Posting from my $400 Evo

After reading a post by TheBundo in another thread, I think I might be totally sold.

Yet, no issues at all.
Do you still live up to this after using the Evo for a more extensive period of time?

One last question, miss anything from Windows Mobile? Software wise to be more specific.

How are people able to get this phone so soon? I thought it wasn't due out until June 4th?

Ahh, I see it now. Well, I asked because another guy said he was expecting his via FedEx the next day. I thought he managed to pre-order it somewhere.

Re: Posting from my $400 Evo

I have an Evo and I just wanted to say that this phone rocks.
I'm listening to Sirius Satellite Radio on it right now through the new app they released yesterday, I really love this thing.
Even had a chance to use the 4G on it in Washington DC, didn't have time to run a speed test but it definately loaded webpages much faster than 3G.

Nice! A great first impression. I live in Vegas and 4G is widespread here, so this is a HUGE selling point for me.
What kind of battery life have you noticed? This seems to be the biggest complaint right now. My TP2 gets about a day, but it's barely been lasting me as of lately.
To compare the 3G to 4G, I've got a test for you. Have you tried using Opera Mini? On my Touch Pro 2 it super charges the internet, I rarely ever complain about slow loading of any type.

I'd love to see a Opera Mini 3G vs 4G and a Dolphin 3G vs 4G comparison if anyone could demo it.
I know that Mini loads the website on Opera's server then compresses the data and sends it over to your mobile handset. I just wonder if there really is a need for a 4G connection with this cloud computing technology.

I just read this TechCrunch article by a iPhone lover and he grilled the Evo BAD. I feel as if he's extremely bias though and probably just feels "threatened" by a phone with such potential.

I am starting to get a bit irritated by the iPhone 4G. The 'leaked' screen resolution of 960 x 640 does make me uneasy. I love having WVGA and more pixels per inch always has me interested.
