Qik Not Ready???
In all of the reviews so far, the reviewer has said every time that Sprint told them Qik is not yet ready for video conferencing.

Ugghhhh....should we be worried about this? Its around two weeks from releasing....how the hell does Sprint not have everything ready by now? Especially something like video conferencing...something Sprint has been showing off the whole time.

Anyone know what is going on?

It could be Qiks fault, but you would think Sprint would barge in and make sure everything is working.

I just want everything good to go when I get my phone dammit...lol. I have a feeling they won't get it done on time. Please let me be wrong.

this is definitely qik's fault as it is an app that doesn't come from sprint. Sprint should not be commenting on this at all as they have no input to whats going on.

I know Qik is an app. But during the Evo 4G party, I remember a person asking about the video conferencing feature and the Sprint representative said that the Qik app will have Evo specific features.

So I assumed Sprint and Qik would be working side by side on the "Evo specific features."

So I'm just confused. If its something that you can download from the Market, then I'll take it. I thought it was something that was going to come pre-loaded. I'm just surprised its not done yet.

yeah you are correct, qik is getting their name out there because of sprint, they should have this app working flawless. The regular qik app for android works but there is a special app for the evo which will utilize the front facing camera.

Qik is a third party company, they have no Idea what is going on with sprint! The software has been ready. If I remember correctly, that's why there making the update for android froyo 2.2 because it stated that android would work much faster, better, efficient etc...with sprint 4G radio

sprint is only the isp man, if the app is not working and you have data coverage then you need to conact the developer of the app.

Sprint is a Telecommunication company...Cell phone service company, BrightHouse is what you consider an ISP, but that not the topic at hand. It true that if a product is not functioning properly you contact the developer...but clearly it is, as the video proves otherwise!

apps go down. for instance i could login to any of my apps on my phone and some of them could be down if the server is down. I don't know what you're saying right now. If i open an app and its not working I don't call tmobile, you send an email to the developer, thats how android works.

I have seen some demos for it. But even in that video, the guy asked if it is "available for public access" and the rep said soon. So I'm still assuming its not completely done.

And the reviewers so far have all said that it is not yet available.

I just want it to be done in time for the launch so I can flaunt the hell out of it to some Apple guys. lol
