reason for no almoed screen

Just my 2 cents on the TV comparison. An LED tv is backlit by LEDs. The amoled isn't back lit at all. Totally different animals. 110% different.

omg you guys just don't understand, it doesn't matter about backlighting, it is still the comparison of viewing lcd vs led. amoled is led technology while tft is regular lcd technology.

I think I fully understand.
I was just pointing out that comparing our phone screens to TV screens isn't apples to apples.

There are no large amoled screens yet. All those TVs are LCD. If it says LED tv, the picture still comes from a LCD (with a led backligh). Funny, right. I think it is misleading, but the amoled screens are actually LED screens. New better technology, with very few disadvantages.
1. Pixel death more common.
2. Ambient brightness weakness

I don't know why everyone on these boards feels the need to attack others at every turn. I'm 110% over it. Just kidding, it keeps things interesting

ha what the queef is going on here. AMOLED is better. It's not even up for debate, seriously. Just check out pics or video with side by side comparisons. you'll see it's brighter and colors pop more. blacks don't look dull. Would prefer the EVO to have AMOLED. There's a reason reviewers get excited about them.

Now if they had an EVO with a 3.7" AMOLED display, i would still go for the 4.3" without AMOLED because i've been wanting a ridiculously large screen for a while.

I'm thinking they didn't go with it on the EVO because there aren't competing devices with screens that big that have it... they arleady have better stuff than other devices, no need to up it anymore. might as well save it for the next device. Plus since it's not on any other devices with that size, i bet it comes with a premium cost. my 2 cents.
