Sadly that's not true, HTC sense puts a big delay on the evo getting froyo officially from sprint.

Re: EVO "Unrootable"?

So we shouldn't expect an update for Froyo on the EVO?! Or is he saying that he will have a custom rom similar to Froyo......or the real thing?!

Re: EVO "Unrootable"?

Gten is correct, rooted nexus users are expecting froyo next week. that would be good news for evo users if they were rooted but obviously it isn't yet.

Re: EVO "Unrootable"?

The leaked froyo is suppose to come out at Google I/o may 19th and officially around the same time the evo comes out. It will be awhile before sprint gives a froyo update.

Re: EVO "Unrootable"?

As you know sense is incorporated deep into the OS as is any shell. Its not just as simple as adding HTC sense like its an app, every feature has to be thoroughly tested. Sense also removes stock features in certain applications so that needs to be tested as well. Its something that's well known

Re: EVO "Unrootable"?

I see....I gotchou! So really its which ever comes first:

1)Sprint releasing the 2.2 update or.....
2)the EVO getting rooted to use the leaked one

It'll most likely be 2)!

HTC Sense is not made like other UI's. They modify the actual C/C++ code to make sense UI happen. So think of it as a modification to the Android source itself rather then just an addon.

Edit: bah p-slim types faster then me apparently...lol
