i work @ rs. we do not know the msrp yet but the heads above are stressing on selling them on upgrades and new accounts. phones at retail do not give that much profit as they are controlled by sprint. it is like we are getting the phones at a slightly higher price than sprint itself but are not allowed to sell it for more than a certain price. and example is the htc touch for t-mobile we got it for $400 but we were only able to sell it for $450. since there is not that many of them this will be the case. bvasically we do not get an msrp to discourage us from selling just the phone without a new account or upgrade.

So I read this thread from front to back and back to front and I'm more confused than ever. What's the status on getting this with the Employee Plus Referral Program/Plan? I'm on Sero and was going to upgrade to what I know as EPRP, essentially the new not so cheap Sero, but only if I can get the Evo that way.

^I think the only limitations will be employee accounts and the EPRP website as stated earlier and like Sprint did last year with the Pre. It seems that EPRP folks will be able to get it from retail stores at launch. We'll see...until someone confirms it either way.

I upgraded 3 sero accounts to a 5 phone EPRP family plan in Feb. All 3 were eligible for full upgrades and they passed the eligibility to my new EPRP plan. Yesterday I went into BB and preorder 2 EVOs with no problem.

Ok, So let me spell it out for people as it seems this topic, while started as a very important thing, has fallen into chaos.

CAN YOU PRE-ORDER THE EVO AT A LOCAL STORE SUCH AS BBY, SPRINT, OR RS, WITH THE INTENTION OF PICKING UP THAT PRE ORDER ON JUNE 4th IF YOU HAVE A EVERYTHING PLUS REFERRAL PROGRAM PLAN?

I posted this in another thread asking about EPRP getting the phone on the 4th. My answer covers both that question and your question.

I talked to telesales, basically here's what went down.

While I was on the phone w/ him I asked about getting the EVO June 4th. He said no problem.

I told him I heard that Sprint might restrict people w/ accounts like mine from getting it on the release date. I mentioned I heard that happened with the Pre. He said, "There are no restrictions for getting the phone on the 4th. Customers w/ referral accounts like you, and of course retail customers, can get the phone. There is a restriction for Sprint Employees but not referral or retail accounts."

When asked about getting the phone at BB or RS, he said I can't get it there. He recommended calling telesales. They have free standard overnight shipping.

You most certainly can get it at BB, RS, Walmart, etc. EPRP rules state you can't, but you CAN. I and many others have done it. YMMV as it is up to the store's discretion. Some freak out when they see you're on an employee referral plan.
