They usually let you get your full upgrade at 21 months into the contract, or for the mathematically challenged like me, three monnths before your 24 month contract is up.

I just went to Radioshack and pre-ordered mine. It was super easy plus I got a extra $20 off that I could've bought accessories with but they just put it into the cost of the phone for me at my request. Plus they are buying my Hero from me for $95 cause its in great condition and my old touch pro for $70 so I'm practically getting the phone for free

I emailed sprint asking if there was any way to upgrade sooner, and the rep said they could not change the upgrade date, but I was offered a $75 credit on my account to make up the difference. I do have to order the phone through Sprint, though.

They gave the accessory credit to you already? Your the first person to claim this. Many other will be attempting to have the $20 put against the cost of the phone.

You must not want to deal with eBay or craigslist, huh? You can easily get $200 for your Hero and at least $100 for the TP.
