My full upgrade is not available until August.
Wouldn't I be better off if I went ahead and got the phone with the $75 discount and the $100 MIR instead of waiting for the other $75 from Sprint for the upgrade, or is the MIR only available to 'new' customers?

MIR is for a full 2 year upgrade or 1 year premiere. But I believe the Evo MIR is only good if you get it launch day.

No, the MIR should be good for a while. Sprint usually extends the MIR. So one could be expiring say on June 5, 2010. Then there will be another one starting on June 6, 2010. I dont know why they do this, but it is common. I have seen this quite a few times.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it looked ridiculous in the Sprint fine print.

My TP2 expires September asked the first person what I could do she pretty much told me to pound sand. Called two hours spoke to a woman who moved my upgrade date to June and will call me June 14th, to upgrade to the EVO. Gottaluvit.

Just to let you guys know you can preorder the EVO 4G from Walmart off their website. Just go to cell phone and scroll down to the bottom once you search for all HTC phones. Click the link that says email when this phone becomes available and they will give you a 1-800 number to call and preorder.

I talked to a lady and asked a few questions. You don't have to put any money down to preorder. They don't know yet what the off contract price is going to be but they said they would call me when they did. You can preorder no matter if you a signing a new contract or off the contract. They said the phone will be available on June 4th but will be shipped to your home so I'm not sure when the phone would actually show up. Might show up a few days early.

I signed up anyway just since it was free. It's worth a shot.

Nice, the only thing that would suck about it is if they ship it out on the 4th then you won't get it for a few days after the fact.

Let me remind everyone that these Wal-mart pre-orders are being fulfilled by LetsTalk. Infamous for there crazy T&Cs, secondary ETFs, etc.
