That's what I have been saying all along- Sprint made people change plans to a more expensive Power Vision plan, but if you were lucky enough to find a rep that would do it, you could get it to work on the existing Vision plan (I was not lucky enough to get to keep my plan, and I had to pay more on a Power Vision plan).
so we're basically saying the samething. if you were already paying for picmail and vision then you were good, someone who didn't care for picmail but wanted vision was saving $5, Sprint then forced you to have picmail included, some people it affected and some it didn't.

Again, the PPC-6700 did not have pic mail. The community used a hack (porting over Arcsoft from the Verizon version) but that was not available for a while after its release. And Sprint ended up killing that anyway. So if Sprint forced you to pay for it (which they did) then you were paying more, and not even getting what they were charging you for.

correct the 6700 didn't have pic mail built in but with the $5 you were given a pic mail account where people who sent you pics were stored there as well as you being able to send pics from that site also. Also if you had the 6700 it still sent you a text with a direct link to the picmail. Sprint may have messed up for forcing that plan on that phone but that was not the only evdo phone out while it was the only evdo phone not capable of pic mail.

I wasn't able to get picmail on my Treo 700wx. I got the link, which I could view, via the web. But that has nothing to do with whether the plans will change for the Evo 4G (which they won't).

The bottom line is, when I had a PPC 6600 (which had pic mail, by the way) I was paying less than the plan I was forced to upgrade to when I bought the 6700. And I was not the only one- the forums were flooded with irate customers back when this happened.

We were forced onto more expensive plans. Therefore, it is not correct to say the price was the same.

true but its the samething with sep plans, some phones require sep plans which are always more expensive, sometimes its the same, and sometimes its cheaper, not EVERY customer was same. The only irrate customers were customers who didn't have pic mail, sprint made the decision to screw them. those that already had picmail were not affected, which goes back to my point that the average customer will not be affected by a price plan to wimax. And the $5 increase wasn't for vision, it was for forced picmail, vision price stayed the same.

Again, not true. Most of the people getting the PPC 6700 (myself included) already had pic mail on our PPC 6600's. We bought the 6700, and were forced onto a more expensive plan, for a device that did not even have pic mail.

The price went up man. Spin it however you want, but the bottom line is Sprint raised our monthly bill when we bought the PPC-6700. And it wasn't because they added pic mail, lol. We were going from a device that actually had pic mail in the 6600, to a device that did not have pic mail in the 6700.

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???

While you guys are arguing P-Slim is correct! I got the Apache when it first came out and I was on plan where I got 4500 anytime minutes for like.....$40, plus with the add-ons I know my bill every month was like.....close to $70! It was a bad@$$ plan because I got everything Sprint had to offer service wise! Than I ended up getting a Mogul like.........2 years later or whatever! I saw the powervision stuff but was never forced to upgrade to any other plan! I had that same plan all the way up till I got this everything plan, me and the Wife got it when they had it for $99 and I just added a line for an additional $10 because I could do that! Than they came out with the everything family plan and forced us to switch to that......so we seperated the lines and each got the everything plan for $69 with discounts that make it much cheaper than the everything family!

Point is.............when I got my Mogul I didn't have to switch to anything......they added GPS to the Mogul...I got that free for 3 months.......they added the picturemail app (from HTC) and I was straight.......but never did I have to switch my plan!
