I probably can live without C/P from the other apps. But man...how do you quote what you read on websites?
Just hit Quote on a user or Multi-Quote if you want multiple things or manually just type

Code:
[QUOTE]QUOTE TEXT HERE[/QUOTE]
Whats wrong though with taking the android route? if you don't want google you can completely remove google out of it (thats what Motorola did for At&t yahoo phone and in china they gonna make it Bing)

LOL, the quoting was regarding the WP7S's lack of copy and paste between apps. So you can't use the browser in WP7S, copy a section off a website and put it in an email to a friend. Heck I wonder if they'll let you send the link to a friend. maybe....if they thought ahead of time, but see...that's kinda the point. MSFT can't anticipate all the uses of Copy and Paste to hyperlink everything out there. Just.....LAME!

Not that I'm against using Google's search engine, I'm against google having a right to all your contacts, calender info, etc that goes into their free cloud service. If they wanted...they'd know when you're not home to rob you. Not that they would, but all the data's there in one convenient location. Maybe I'm just paranoid. If I'm correct, you have to have a google account to use a google phone right? Or can you set it so that you never sync with the cloud and only on your computer?

Ha...not a terrorist. Just not someone who has the need/desire to post to the world this is what I'm doing at this moment all the time. When "do no harm" is really enforced, Google services are great in theory, but who knows who is going to misuse that info and when. Places get hacked all the time. Wasn't google the ones that found their own systems hacked by chinese hackers? It's like placing all your eggs in one basket.

You don't have to post to google's cloud service if you don't want to..you jsut won't be able to use the Google apps and etc which are not required or you can find alternatives to...as I said motrola completely took google out in all aspects and uses yahoo instead on AT&T..microsoft is same right now..LIVE, microsoft myphone all use cloud to store your data and contacts.

But you don't need a Google account to use Android at all. You jsut gotta sign your soul away to them (jk)..and personally yes I think google is out to conquer the world...but that does not change that you don't have to sync to Google or have a google account to use Android.

Awesome! So you're saying you don't need a gmail account to use the EVO's phone capabilities, aside from the google apps. That's good to know. I've been trying to find out that info like from G1 reviews and they had said you needed a gmail account in order to use the phone. I was kinda turned off by that. With this new info...I might be getting an EVO then. Thanks for the info!

This is somewhat not true, you will have to create a Google account regardless if You want to access the marketplace at all. You can create a fake account but if you want to be able to download apps from the marketplace you have to create a Google account. That's how you log into different android devices and all you apps are instantly installed for you.

He was asking whether or not it will not let him use the phone at all without a google account..p-slim look at it this way he is using an ppc6700 apache and mogul..even without market place and etc its 100x better. You don't particularly need to use the market place if you don't want to., you can load apps manually as we do with our winmo phones

That is true but without the marketplace an andriod isn't an android. The ability to side load apps is just a plus, but he will not even have the ability to browse apps and i honestly know he will want at leat 40 apps from the marketplace. Creating a google account is a must in the end but it can just be some random info. I

True but the beauty of android unlike iphone is there are other market places that may not be as big but have stuff :

https://slideme.org

http://www.mobihand.com

and last I remember you were using a warez site to get your apps for 1 time yearly fee..(sorry couldn't resist and dont mean it in any bad way)

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=248

you should remove the link by the way >.>

Edit: oh and sorry that should have probably have be of been a PM :/
