Google has exchange capabilities, you don't need a computer at all. Go to active sync on your phone and select add server source, put in your gmail addy, unchecked "attempt to detect automatically " , then for server address its m.Google.com, then user name is your full email address and then your gmail pasasword. Then sync contacts, email, and calendar. Damn picking up my tp2 to figure out those directions took me back, I can't believe how slow and unresponsive that phone is compared to these newer spec phones.

everybody who has a google phone has to create a google account, eventually. Otherwise you won't be able to access the marketplace and even browse apps or see ratings.
