I got mine about a week ago and its smooth. That's one of the reasons I went with Clarivue.

just ordered a full body at www.clear-coat.com if anyone else wants a nice full body from there you can use coupon code 25off to get 25% off! they also offer free shipping (I opted to pay $28 to get it next day but they are in PA so it probably wont go out until Thursday and hopfully i can have it by friday or Saturday!

They, like some of the others give you 2 full body skinz for the price of one have no orange peel effect and supposedly are pretty good!

Here is a shot of the Clarivue screen protector cut outs. I will get my Evo tomorrow and install and upload another picture but I would have liked to see the protector without the cut-outs. I went ahead and ordered Boxwave protectors as they have always been good in the past. The clarivues appear to be of good quality, though. The bottom of the protector does not have any holes cut out.

I got the screen protectors I ordered from Clearfreak on eBay today and I'm pleased to see they don't have holes cut out for the buttons at the bottom either. That seemed pointless to me since they're touch sensitive like the rest of the screen. The only cutout is for the camera. They feel very slick so sliding around the screen should be no problem. Also got a little squeegee thingie. Two protectors for $7.98, so not bad. Once the Seidio case I pre-ordered arrives I'll be in business.

Ordered a phantomskinz full body kit. Anyone that is interested use code: summersale2010 (30%). Came out to a bit over 17 bucks and it shipped today. Hopefully get it saturday since they are close. Will just have to be careful for a day :D

So it's the same top to bottom coverage without the holes? Nice to know they changed it upon request.

Yeah, just one solid piece of plastic. Only the camera hole.

Here are the clarivue's on the Evo 4G. I have to say that they are amazing. They have a slick feel and do not feel rubbery in any way. They went on in a snap and using my own method I got it installed completely free of dust :)

My Best Buy actually said they had brand new Evo's with pre-installed screen protectors (they put them on) and I checked one out and it looked sub-par to me (orange peel look) and rubbery feel. I had these waiting for it when I came home :toothy7:

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

yea so i didnt want my screen to go bear while waiting on my clarivue and seeing those pics makes me so happy cause it covers the whole screen and has cutouts for the sensors and camera! Thanked for pics! But i bought some protectors at sprint store BUT they ONLY cover the screen part meaning just the 4.3 in screen portion of the phone not the entire front which i am not cool with... i want as much protected as i can so im glad the clarivue is like that cause these are pitiful... i got 1 anti glare and 2 clear for 12 bucks at sprint but im not satisfied with them so i cant wait till my order comes!!!!...

Okay so here is my method for a perfect installation of a screen protector..Thats right, I said PERFECT! No dust, hairs, etc..No steam, water etc. Here is what you need:
- 3M Blue Painters Tape
- Lint-free towel
- Patience

Sit yourself at a desk (I used my computer desk) and take about 4-5 strips of tape roughly 8" in length each and overlap them to make one big piece of tape (like a mat) You will now have a big sticky square. Flip it over and place in face up on the desk so that the sticky side faces up and tape the 4 corners down onto the desk. Now you have a fail safe in case you mess up.

Clean your phone screen and I mean check it by a light, turn it, angle it, anything that you can do to make sure it is as dust free as you can get it!

Now when you are ready, remove the top protective layer of the screen protector that your fingers will touch. Next, gently peel away the phone-side of the protective layer starting from the top making sure not to touch the actual screen protector. At this point, I lay the screen protector flat onto the tape and press it all around to catch any dust/debris. Using the protective layer that you just peeled off, snag the bottom right corner of the screen protector underneath where it makes contact with the phone and start to peel it up. Now starting from the top left corner of the phone, lay it down onto the screen starting from the top left and going down and to the right continue to apply making sure any bubbles/ripples are gone.

If you mess up, pull the protector off using the protective layer (snag it from underneath the bottom right corner again) and reapply to the sticky mat you made and start over. This will take a few tries but it makes perfect results.

Sorry I asked! That sounds like surgery.

I put my ZAGG on today after ripping off the clearfreaks garbage...went on easy and looks good. I don't think its nearly as "tacky" as everyone makes it out to be.

anyone get their Clear-Coat in? I'm thinking about ordering one, or Clarivue. I got a Zagg on check out since it was free with the $20 from RS. It looks good, but this tacky/grippiness actually impedes my use of the phone.

I've used them on 4 different phones and always been happy with them. the only difference with zagg is they are twice the price or more for all I can tell. has anyone used both and can tell the difference?

Also if anyone that has seen the phone or from any of the pictures online tell if the front facing camera is flush with the rest of the screen? If it was I dont think I would want a screen protector to have a cut out for it. one screen cover that covers all 7 buttons and front camera. the only thing it would need a cut out for is the speaker at the top?

i used to use them all the time try phanton skinz you won't go back , NO orange peel effect

the clearfreaks was cut very poorly. It wasn't even wide enough to cover the entire screen. It was off centered too when i would line up the camera hole.

The ZAGG looked great. Had to rip it off too though to return the evo for faulty lcd....

Got my phantomskinz in the mail today though... I was just gonna reapply the zagg... we'll see.

I just got my Zagg Full Body Easy Install InvisibleShields yesterday and I like it so far. The material makes me think that the phone is being protected fairly well and I actually like the way it feels.

Did the install of the full body take alot of time ? I only got the screen protector as i was informed by the installer of these at best buy that it is n takes alot of finessing

I got the easy install one, so it doesn't have all those little side protectors. It was pretty easy to installed though, and I usually have a hard time with them. I like how the back side protector makes the phone look shiny.

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

My XO-Skins came today.....and I like it, pretty simple to apply if you have dealt with these things before, come with spray and squeegee, and full body skin.......I only applied the screen protector and battery cover piece......the screen protecter has cut out for the camera and sensors.....the back has cut out for the camera, speaker, flash, HTC logo (which I thought was cool) and kickstand......i also applied a piece for the kickstand itself......it all fits well, and feels strong......not as rubbery as invisible shield, nor as slippery as stock on tp2......but thin and easy to slide around screen......

I give it a 10/10.....for fit, durability, feel.....
Ive used invisible shield on TP(never liked how sticky it was), stock on TP2....

phantom skinz

just ordered screen only for $6 bucks with code sumersale2010 30% discount.

not worried about the rest tho... i have the same screen protector on my tp2 and i like it.. clear and not rubbery... i do have the full kit on the tp2 but dont see the need for it now. the side are too hard to put on and the back cover can be replaced.

so i got the screen protector and a seidio holster on the way.. im good to go.
