Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

I just bought the Zagg Screen Protector from Best Buy, but after reading up about it on here I am having second thoughts on keeping it.

I got the Evo on Friday the 8th phone fell out of my shirt pocket and the screen broke which was the 12th yesterday morning while at work (I had no protection on the phone... not even a screen protector), and when I got home from work I called up Asurion Insurance and they sent me a replacement phone today the 13th.

I don't know what case to get or what screen protector to get... I'm reading up on here, but nobody has given a concrete answer on what case to get nor screen protector.

Someone help me out... should I get the Otterbox one for $35 or the Seido Innocase 2? Or do you have something that is better...

Greatly appreciated...

Also, to add to the story Asurion sent me a brand new Evo in box with all accessories and everything so I'm going to have double of everything except the battery and sd card although I know I can keep them, but I don't want to take any chances or anything. I happy they sent me a new one to begin with and not a refurb.

Also, can someone give me some help on a good screen protector... should I keep the Zagg and give it a try?

I don't want to put it on and the keyboard is unresponsive or anything like that.

I wish the Evo was made with that Monster Glass Screen that is on a Motorola phone that Sprint offers... they say that glass screen is virtually indestructible and scratch proof or something.

Anyone?

Try stealth guards. I use it on my phone. It is just like zagg. The link bellow will get you there. I joined their affiliate program which basically paid for the shipping cost and more. They are still giving them away for free.

Just got the protectors in the mail, having the same issue I had with all the others, either the top or the buttom has an air bubble, its almost like its less then a mm to long so it doesn't fit perfectly.

It's hard, but possible to make it work. If it's too long, Just cut few mm off the top.

The pick on last page does not have any modification to the screen shield btw, and you can see few mm longer on the bottom of the LCD. I just threw it out, and modifed another one (had 5, so why not right) and now it fits perfectly.

Just cut little off top, and work on the corners (make it curve like prior to the cut). Simple mod, but it works. (putting it on perfect isn't so easy though lol).

Get the boxwave screen protector. Its simply the best.

The sprint one is pretty nice. Wish it covered the entire front instead of just the screen.

OP please edit post 1 to include Steinheil crystal or antifingerprints. These are exceptional, and you get 2 in a pack for about 12 bucks. Easiest installation, best cut. No air bubbles, no messy water tricks to get on and they last a long time. I did not read the whole thread bit did not see Steinheli listed and this has to be an oversight as they are definitively one of the very top protectors, hands down. Please include link in first post if you want to steer people in right direction. I have no vested interest other than true quality protection.

you dont need holes if it is crystal screen protector, the matte finish has the front camera uncovered......My front camera works as flawlessly as one without a protector and I have the crystal,,,thus the name ,,,crystal as in crystal clear

I have the stealth guards protector on the back and an anti glare from sprint on the front. It doesn't cover the whole front if the phone but its still good quality.

It may have been said before. But DON'T buy the invisableShield Zagg ones. They are total junk. Soft, tacky and when you squeegee it on you may get that fuild in your speaker. Total crap.

I ordered good old WriteShields which have never failed me and I should have stuck with. But Zagg ones are all bestbuy had and I didn't want to be naked so long.
