Re: Keep alive?
press menu > settings > display > screen timeout > set to "never turn off." Good radio/audio apps will allow you to turn off the display and still hear though...

Re: Keep alive?
Ok, so I am assuming anytime the phone is on, it will stay on and never shut off? (screen) So for example, you have a missed call, 2 hours later when you check your phone, the screen will be sitting there on? Thanks for the help.

Re: Keep alive?
Not quite... the lockscreen will still be set to 20-30 secs, so if the screen turns on by itself for some reason, it will still shut itself off after that short time. If you unlock the screen and leave it like that, then the device's screen will stay on until you turn it off.
There's probably an app that allows you to prevent certain apps from sleeping, but I haven't checked. |

Re: Keep alive?
Pretty much anything I have tried. Iheartradio, police scanner, etc. Clipp's advise worked, but for some reason I don't really like leaving the screen setting as always on. I guess I just have to make sure to turn it off everytime.

Re: Keep alive?
It's a solution, but I wouldn't leave it on all the time... it's going to use a ton of battery. I have mine set for 2 minutes. like I said before, most audio apps with good developers usually continue to work when you turn the screen off. I'm surprised iheartradio doesn't do this...
Here is another option... this Keep Screen app will let you select which apps you want to avoid the time-out... all other apps will work normally with whatever screen time-out you set in the system settings. https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result |

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick, at least from limited testing anyway. Brew Edit1-Ok, after further review, it seem like it might be the actual data that is shutting off, not necessarily the programs themselves. Is there a way to keep the data awake? I do not see it listed in the above app to keep alive. Thanks Edit2- I found and turned on the setting "mobile always on" or what ever, and that seems to keep it working. I will have to see how that affects the battery. Most likely will just have to flip that setting on when I use a radio type app, and turn it off afterwords.
