Oh BTW the website is the easiest way to activate a phone. Takes literally under 5 minutes and u don't have to talk to anyone. Just log into mysprint and under the device options hit activate new phone. It will ask u to type in esn number twice and it will swap it out on line.

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...

I would like to be of the movement and return my 3d just for the hell of it just to add a lil fire under their butts. paid full price for my 3d no upgrade resets to deal with, unfortunately my original ROOTED evo 4g broke and had to get it replaced and the new one came with 2.3 gingerbread already installed so I lost the ability to root on that one so makes no difference to me now to switch back I'll still be in the same boat.

You have too much time on your hands. Keep the phone and stop crying about flashing roms.

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...

this thread reminds me of the pre-HSPL TP2 days. before I went to wp7 I had a rule which was to own the phone for an entire month before flashing a custom rom just to get the hang of the stock functionality of the phone.

I think alot of folks bought the 3d expecting it to be unlocked either immediately on release or shortly thereafter. Moreover, I think alot of people expected HTC to announce at least provide a date of some sort when they are going to unlock it. So I think many are getting frustrated and trying to put pressure on HTC (facebook page, customer service, etc). I really don't see anything wrong with this because I truly feel if everyone didn't slam them a few months ago about locked bootloaders, I really think they would've just ran with it. The consumer uprising in a way forced their CEO to make a statement which we all hope they keep. Having said all that, the device is obviously powerful and there is tons you can do to tweak it up while waiting for the community to do their magic and/or HTC to keep their promises. You can try 500+ custom icons, a multitude of free launchers, temp roots, overclocking, etc, etc. Just try to enjoy the device and take the time to play around with what you can modify. Lastly, if you really feel the need to return it, then by all means do so That's your right and you can easily buy it again at a later date. Just my perspective on it.

Bro, this thread is nothing compared to the pre-hspl tp2 fiasco. The tp2 forum was like world war 3 and everyone hated everyone else and there had to be a record number of thread closings during that time. At least it made for great entertainment.

this thread seemed to be a milder version of it. I wasn't really around back then because I had a TP. I did find one thread and thought it was funny.

I'm officially back on the HTC bandwagon. Thank God! I was not looking forward to waiting for the SGII. Who knows when that thing will be out.
