My account will be credited what I spent on the phone and my upgrade and contract dates will be set back to where they were prior to the 3D purchase.

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...
Thanks. I bought from BB and wasn't sure if it would be an issue or not if I just did the switch myself before I returned the handset. Still on the fence but leaning more one way than the other.

You'll probably end up buying another one. We'll probably see root before a comparable device is released on Sprint. I never threatened Sprint/HTC cause I have no intention of returning it. I have my EVO if I want to play with custom ROMs until the 3D gets root.

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...
The reason I decided to upgrade was for more stability. I LOVED my TP2 and was a flashaholic at one point too. I was even building my own roms
with the kitchens, just to get them the way I liked. However I was getting tired of the nagging bugs with trying to force feed the TP2 with stuff that just wasn't meant for that phone. I wanted some stability. So I upgraded to the 3D and finally have some stability. The thing is tho, theres things in Android that are annoying me that I would love to see changed via a custom ROM. So while I love the current stability I have, I'm still itching to root to be able to get rid of some of these annoyances. I am definitely annoyed that this thing is still locked down. I can see people starting to lose patience, especially with the 30 day window getting closer. Last edited by Chuck_IV; 07-08-2011 at 01:30 PM. |

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...
Their facebook wall is getting pummeled with bad press. How long can they allow this to go on before they address the issue? Again, this is what the ceo wrote on may 26....
There has been overwhelming customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we've listened. Today, I'm confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience," Peter Chou, CEO of HTC They need to let us know if the 3D and sensation will be unlocked and give us a solid date for doing so. |

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...
I emailed them via the support website and this is what I got back... I told them that I had 30days to make decision on returning the device for another that allows unlocked bootloaders and I was soliciting info to make a more informed choice.

Re: Following through on my threat to HTC...
Wow. That could mean anything. What i know for sure is, you won't have an answer within the 30 day window to return your phone.
Thanks for sharing scrosler. This makes my decision to return even better. |

Full root is just around the corner unless there are other phones comming up that u are interested in it makes no sense to return it. U used your upgrade well then you should have kept it and just transfered service back to ur 4G till they get the 3D situated the way u want it. Ur gonna loose the couple months of upgrade down the road. What if u take it back and get it three months later. That's three more months u would have to wait at the end of ur contract. should have just kept it and turned ur 4G back on temporarily so u can tether. Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
