Re: Are you protecting your 3D with case, protective screen, etc?

I am def protecting my Evo 3D! I originally bought the ridiculously expensive Otterbox Defender Case from BB. Big mistake! I got home and installed that hideous POS and it basically turned my phone from a sleek, thin smartphone to a big, bulky, clunky, misshapen, ugly contraption that can make calls. BB mobile reps are idiots because they sold me a nice Zagg anti-glare screen protector and the Otterbox comes with a built-in screen protector. I love Zagg and have use and self-installed four of them since I had my original Evo 4G.

The Otterbox wasn't something I could live with. I wanted the Pt Platium series case + holster that was originally being sold with the Evo 4G at launch day, but none were to be found. All BB had was endless Otterbox variants. I took my Otterbox Defender case back to BB, today, and low and behold they had a stock of Pt Platinum cases! The Platinum cases are extremely thin, yet, functional. I used nothing but that on my Evo 4G. Dropped my Evo on concrete and stairs and on marble floors and not a single scratch, using the Platinum case. Plus, it's so sleek and thin and doesn't deform the phone or make it look ugly. So, I promptly returned my Otterbox and my beautiful Platinum case is installed. I am happy.

I've been using the OG EVO HTC leather case...I went to a sprint store today to try the HTC leather case for the 3d, I actually prefer the OC EVO case. I bought the screen protectors, but not sure I'm gonna use one.

I use a couple bear traps to protect mine. Mrs. User keeps grabbing it to play angry birds.

Re: Are you protecting your 3D with case, protective screen, etc?

I opted for the Otterbox Defender PLUS the invsibileSHIELD with glare and smudge protection. Remember...if you use just the defender (or other case with a built-in protector) something can get up under it damage your screen. So far I have found nothing wrong with running both of these to protect my device. I, at first, noticed a slight difference when looking at the screen. But that was either because I was outside or the screen was still wet from the install. Inside, I haven't had any issues. However keep in mind that I got the SP that has more options and the other one looked clearer....but I have greasy hands and I don't want smudges rofl.

My only complaint about this case is that it does not come in blue/black...I am hoping that changes rofl. That and the case clips in quietly to the holster so I am worried about wether it is actually in there lol.

Defender here too. I did get a TPU to get me through till I could get the Otterbox. Had both the commuter and defender with my Hero. Sold it yesterday with both plus a brand-new warranty replacement Defender they were kind enough to send me. Otterbox ftw!

Re: Are you protecting your 3D with case, protective screen, etc?

I'm going to be switching to a Defender case tomorrow as well(I have it waiting for me at Best Buy). I currently have the Premiere case from Best Buy(aka Seidio) and while it's nice, I don't like the fact that there isn't any protection for the camera lens/area.

I'm not sure I'm gonna like the added bulk of the Defender case, but I like to where the pnoen on a belt clip and I'm pretty bump prone so the more protection, the better.

I already have a screen protector on so I will probably leave it and see how it works with the Defender case. The screen is so touch sensitive now, a little less sensitivity wouldn't be a bad thing.

Re: Are you protecting your 3D with case, protective screen, etc?

I used the Otterbox defender for a day or so, but am going to take it back. The phone's so large with the case and wearing it on a holster seems weird (used to just carrying phones in my pocket, so it may just be me). It seemed like it made the phone about twice as thick, though it is well protected and a nice case.

I'm opting for a tpu case mainly just to protect the camera lenses on the back and a screen protector. It keeps the thickness down and will save me $40 compared to the otterbox.

Yea, due to work I personally need the extra protection. However, I don't see getting my wife an Otterbox. She has a cheapy from amazon...however it seems she isn't happy with the color (black lol) so I'm gonna have to get her something more girly .

I did get her the same screenprotector as me though...that girl loves to grease up her fingers and rub all over her screen .

The cummuter series otterbox is really nice it doesn't feel too bulky and has a bit of a raised lip around the camera to keep it level and stops the camera from hitting the table I really like mine, just thought I'd share with those who arent liking the defender
