Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

1 4G turned ON
2 wifi turned off
3 BT turn off
4 About 15 min talk time
5 Browsed web for about 3 minutes. Skype running in background but didnt use it for calls at all ( i guess still does minor drain)
6 No gaming
7 Average number of bars was 2-3, lost 4g multiple times to 3g
8 email set for push -2 accounts (gmail and hotmail)
9. About 10 text messages.

Haven't touched a setting yet.. ****JUST HOW I GOT IT FROM the sprint store**** battery is terrible , unplugged it at 9 am and by 5:30pm is was dead , and that's with almost no use ( super busy at work today).. I was getting better battery performance from TP2. I guess turning off brightness , 4g, gps, etc etc might get a full day battery but whats the use of a smartphone if you need to make it a dumbphone by turning off every feature?

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Hoppefully by now you have had a chance to discharge and charge your phone at least 3 to 5 times to break in the battery. The key is to NOT let your new battery drain past 20 to 25 percent during the break in period and after that, ensure you rarely if at all let the phone drain down to the point where it shuts itself off.

You can find some very helpful battery preservation information such as turning off the automatically sign in for Google Talk, and I also recommen using the Brightness Widget from HTC to allow you to manually set it low which I think is around 25 to 30% to Mediuma and then to high, at the press of a button. Auto Brightness uses more battery because the screen brightness is constantly changing based on the environment your in.

If you look under settings then about phone and then Battery, yuou will see your uptime and awake time. If your awake time is anywhere close to your uptime after leaving the screen off for a couple of hours to overnight, then you have some program that is constantly running.
I have noticed that if you have the phone plugged in and charging and you do a reboot, that the awake time matches the Up Time because the phone is awake during charging, so my above recommendation assumes that you do not have the phone on and charging overnight.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

1 4G turned off
2 wifi and gps turned off
3 BT turn off
4 About 50 min talk time
5 Browsed web for about 1 hour total throughout the day.
6 20 min of gaming ( non hd or 3d )
7 Average number of bars was 2-3, including some roaming for no reason
8 email set for push -2 accounts (gmail and yahoo)
9. About 150 text messages.
10. showed off some 3d photos and 4 min of 3d youtube videos

about 9hrs after being disconnected from charger with the above usage phone was at 29% . went to sleep 8hrs no charge awoke to a 9% battery which lasted 10 more text messages. this is a semi normal day for me I would like slightly better but I could be ok with this would like to be able to use my 4g throughout my day without worrying about locating the nearest outlet

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter -
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -enabled some of the day
3 - BT on
4 - One hour and 15 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 15 minutes of internet use
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- two exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 - GPS enabled

Phone lasted about 4 hours - it jumped from being at about 40% remaining after using it for about 3 hours- to leaving it idle when I heard it warn me it had 15% remaining. This is about on par with my 3 and a half year old WM phone which has a 1100mah battery but a smaller screen and slower processor. The battery on my old phone however is about two and a half years old.

It does charge very very slowly compared to my old phone.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Day 2 - From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter -
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -disabled
3 - BT on
4 - Two hours and 30 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 10 minutes of internet use
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- two exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 -GPS disabled

12 hours before the battery completely died. Turning off the GPS helped a lot.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

I use google maps, web, no video, 4G on occasionally, backlight auto dim. everything off wifi, bt. Talk time average one hour. I do mess around with apps and downloads.

I come home at night its about 5% left.

I do have spare battery in my bag.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Day 3 - From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter - instantly went down to 87% after unplugging
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -disabled
3 - BT on
4 - 50 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 10 minutes of internet use
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- two exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 -GPS disabled
11 - screen set for about 15% brightness - nearly all the way down.

9 hours before the battery completely died. Much worse than yesterday - same weather conditions as yesterday. Phone stayed in the same location as yesterday. As much as I like the phone I'll probably return it in about 3 weeks and get the SG SII when it makes it to Sprint.

If the moderators are listening - I'd like to turn this thread into a poll. Should I just start a new thread?

I figured I'd just list about 10 choices - 2 hours on battery, 4 hours on battery, 6...

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Day 4 - From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter 100%
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -disabled
3 - BT on
4 - 75 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 5 minutes of internet use
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- two exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 -GPS disabled
11 - screen set for about 15%/20% brightness - nearly all the way down.

Today I turned of sense in the sync settings. Battery seems a little better today. I've had it unplugged for 10 hours and it is at 40% battery.

I did notice that nearly every minute or two I spent just spinning the screen or reading e-mail the battery went down 1% - that just seems rediculous to me considering how low I have the brightness set. I wasn't browsing the web or calculating PI to the billionth decimal place - just reading email and the like. This seems a little extreme.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Day 5 - From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter 100%
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -disabled
3 - BT on
4 - 30 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 15 minutes of reading emails and fiddling with apps
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- two exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 -GPS disabled
11 - screen set for about 15%/20% brightness - nearly all the way down.
12 - htc sense sync turned off

Not good - Battery died after 12 hours off the charger. Lost signal in an area I've never lost signal in the past 6 years.
