Re: Sprint Diamond stuck in 1X most of the time
Is your Mode of Operation (Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Services -> Mode of Operation selection -> Click "Get Settings") set to Hybrid?
I personally keep my MoD on 1X, since I text A LOT and text messages are sent and received in 1X. I get them much faster, and it saves battery life since it doesn't switch from EVDO to 1X. EVDO is just required for fast internet use, from what I understand. Last edited by unclutchable; 08-04-2009 at 12:07 PM. |

Re: Sprint Diamond stuck in 1X most of the time
Clutchypoo is right about the 1x thing but a couple other things to try are updating your PRL (might call tech support) and going to ##778#, View Info->Modem Settings, HDR Hybrid Preferred, Enabled. You will need your MSL to check it.

Did PRL update and still nothing. Called sprint, and they mentioned something about receiving some calls about the same issue around here and are working on it. Lets hope thats the case.

Re: Sprint Diamond stuck in 1X most of the time
Perhaps this might help you...
If you go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting Change the option HiddenModeOperationPage from 1 to 0 Then go to Phone/menu/option/service/and check in the list, "Mode of Operation" should be at the bottom. You have 3 choices, Hybrid, EVDO, and 1X. If you switch to EVDO only though, you won't get calls since, from what I understand, uses 1x. I usually leave mine on Hybrid unless I'm wanting to conserve battery and/or in a poor reception area in which case I switch to 1x. |

Re: Sprint Diamond stuck in 1X most of the time
Same thing was happening to me. Whenever I was 1x no calls would come through. I called Sprint and the lady I spoke with tried everything. I don't have insurance but she sent me a new phone anyway and now get great signal everywhere.
