Re: Where can I buy a new (non-red) back battery cover?

I did the Rit Dye method but it was a disaster. It looked great the first day. Eventually it started rubbing off on my hand. I did a second coat, it looked good again, but this time the camera lens cover got killed. Did not change the method, but it got cloudy and would not auto focus. I decided to get some wet sand paper and see if I could clear it up. Bought polish and paper before work, after work I took my phone out and the lens cover was cracked.

Not sure if the Rit weakened the lens cover or what, but the dye was the only thing I did and within 2 days it was cracked. I looked everywhere for a replacement Sprint cover but no dice. Found an Alltel cover on Ebay. It's dark gray (better color) but says Alltel under the camera. Oh well, at least I can now use my camera! So, if you want a gray color, look for an Alltel one on Ebay.

I did the rit dye method and right away put a full body skin on it so there is no chance for rub off and it has a glossy look to it and is easy to grip.

Re: Where can I buy a new (non-red) back battery cover?

here is a pic of my diamond with the sharpie method i gave. i have a zagg full body shield on it. without the shield it looks black matte and still has the soft touch feel. with this method as with any other i would recommend a full body shield(http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/...ns-shields.php)

sorry for the bad camera

it looks great. it looks as if it was made like it. completely covered with no chance of lens problems. does not look ghetto in any way(looks like a pro paint job)

Re: Where can I buy a new (non-red) back battery cover?

Very cool. I always shoot with my back cover removed, so i wasnt even concerned about that. I need to drop by a sprint store and see if i can get an extra red one though. I dont think i can send it back (if need be) with the black back.
