sorry must have been clear as mudd i was just curious how you "fixed" some of the features that are usually missing

Ahhh...ok
Like omnicronx said I didn't "fix" anything. I just started searching the net for other programs that replace the features we are missing without htc dialer.

Re: Alternatives to htc dialer and volume control in wm6.5

He didnt fix anything, this is not the real HTC dialer. the HTC dilaer actually comes packaged with the dialer, and slide to answer and gives the ability to show icons such as bluetooth. The problem is sometimes people get non ringing issues, and that call bubble always pops up over the slide to answer screen when your phone is on.

This will only replace two of the three components, my guess is there will be no slide to answer.

1). If you want to get rid of the windows bubble alert while using the HTC dialer there is a very simple fix. Don't use a 6.5 themes. Cook themes into your rom so you get the scroll bars. Simple use the windows mobile blue or black themes. Not the htc black. The windows mobile black. This fixes the problem. If you don't like the picture then simply select a picture for your background. The bubble will no longer pop up.

2) Windows mobile 6.5 has built in slide to answer but only when the phone is locked. I actually like this slide to answer better then the HTC version.

Hope that helps

Gonna hve to try that with the themes, the dialer and pop up caller id is the only the thing that peeves me about 6.5.

+1
Incoming caller ID bubble is hidden somewhere inside of the .dll or .exe or .mui in the sys.Im sure it can be replaced with custom image. To check every sys file gonna take too much time, but if somebody can point me which sys files or folders may contain it,I can check it out...

Here is a copy of my post last week. Good luck.

Hey guys I posted this yesterday. It got moved and then buried. I think this is pretty important unless we already know about this and I am a little behind. A fix has been found for the htc dialer problems so it can be used with the 6.5 themes without any problems. I have been using this method for 2 days without any problems. The theme remains un affected and the htc dialer works perfectly....

Yesterdays post
omnicronx over in the diamond thread discovered 2 reg entrie that he suspected were the cause the htc dialer conflict. Here is a quote from his thread. "This reg:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Bubble: BubbleBorderThemeImage
set to '\Windows\classicblue_msgboxBorder.jpg' with calcs default theme is the main problem. When this entry is deleted the bubble no longer pops up over the slide to answer screen, but there the words 'incomming call' still appear from the bubble popup.(i.e this is the big offender)
This reg:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Toast:T oastBorderThemeImage
currently set to \Windows\classicblue_toastBorder.jpg
Removing this entry gets rid of the 'incomming call' text, resulting in nothing but HTC slide to answer showing up when the phone is on and you get a call.
The problem here is these reg entries obviously reference image files for the new context menus. The thing is I can't see any changes for the life of me, even after I delete these entries (and soft reset multiple times to make sure) everything seems to work fine, and I still have the fully working context menus, borders and all. I've gone through as many context menus as I could and I could still see no difference (between reg entries there and delete).
You guys can try it out, if there are no issues then perhaps we need to make 6.5 themes with this in mind. (at least for those that want to use the HTC dialer)
edit: or perhaps even find the underlying issue, I find it strange that these pictures cause the bubble to come into focus. "

Turns out he is right. Removing these entries seems to have no ill effect on the 6.5 themes and the htc dialer works correctly without the windows bubble popping up. Check out his post in calk thread here... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...44494&page=613

I took it one step further and edited the file in the kitchen so just locate and replace "mxipcold_wpc_2.provxml" with the one I have attached and everything seems to b ingood working order. Please thank him for his discovery... I posted this here because I know we all wanted this problem solved and it appears to be. Enjoy...

Re: Alternatives to htc dialer and volume control in wm6.5

No slide to answer. I've been using S2U2's s2a. Works pretty well except for the fact that caller id doesn't work sometimes (id shows up after you answer via default dialer)?

Re: Alternatives to htc dialer and volume control in wm6.5

Im have qvga and cannot test it,but I can see, that you fixed scrolling call history/contacts issue.
When I scroll down, the keypad dissapearing and that red bar painting my screen when I scroll more then 4 lines down.Do you know what regentries I should check?

Sorry, I didn't actually fix anything. This is just replacing the images used in the actual windows dialer.

Edit: if you want I can try and make qvga versions tomorrow. You'll just have to put a rom together with the stock dialer only for it to be used tho.
