Re: Possible screen problem

For the record, I've had this problem for months and not really done anything about it. The other day my phone refused to boot up so I had to get a new one but I don't think this problem will necessarily make it unusable, you can't even tell it's there unless you're in florescent lighting.

some seem to have problems afterwards and others don't....in my case the scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen became unusable....(i use the stylus to scroll)

i will agree about the florescent lighting.....it makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

I had to send my phone to HTC, I don't have Sprint, and I had AT&T but they said anything screenwise is cosmetic, and then I switched to T-mo, so it had to go HTC.
I am alittle regarding "2 links at the top of the first post. "In your post, the second link is broken. Are you referring to the 2 links you posted above?

Re: Possible screen problem

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=339 that one works.

just read the whole thing here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=68671 all updates are on there..

any advice is appreciated since my phone is in Indianapolis with HTC with 9 days left to respond till they send it back for $35

ok so HTC originally told me that the screen wasn't flat because it had a pressure point.. well either they did that themselves or, DUH, heat causes things to warp, and I know this whole problem was because the phone was constantly overheating!

Now I just need to know what to say over the phone to have them own up to their damn overheating issue and fix the thing for free!

Re: Possible screen problem

Sounds like HTC is in denial as they don't want to admit there is a manufacturing problem. Alot of companies play the old BS of its the fault of the customer angle and most customers give in. But others persist and get what they want. HTC and Sprint are aware of the screen problem. You can either let then know that and persist or just pay the $35 which would probably give you less aggravation. It will be hard to prove that what they are saying is wrong as you are here and they are there. If the screen problem happens again it will be harder for HTC to play the its your fault excuse.
Don't forget to document everything via email and that you are aware of the manufacturing problems regarding the screen issues, etc. etc. and that you don't agree with the its your fault concept excuse or however you want to word it as long as you document everything and send them a copy. It will help for next time if there is a next time. You can post links in your email regarding others who are experiencing the same issue.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41724&page=51 his phone overheats

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=575259&postcount=540

and yes mine gets too hot to hold or touch for that matter when its charging and 1. the screen is on. 2. the screen is on and i'm using gps. 3. the screen is on during a call. 4. the screen is on during a speakerphone call.

so how the heck am I supposed to use the phone while its charging during a call? It gets too hot! The back where the battery resides reaches almost to the point of a burning temperature it feels only a hairline away from burning my hand!

the proof of the Touch Pro's overheating:

"I had this issue last week and though the phone was messed up. When I saw this, I laughed so hard my coworkers thought I was crazy. LOL

I went into a Sprint repair store on the weekend and the representative there informed me that while I'm surfing the internet I shouldn't have the charger plugged in. I noticed that while I'm using the phone as a GPS or just talking on the phone while it's on the charger it heats up. WTF... you can't use and charge your phone at the same time? What a Crock... LOL"

REALLY? WE CAN'T CHARGE AND USE THE PHONE AT THE SAME TIME? IS THAT SO? HMMM..MY POINT EXACTLY.

Re: Possible screen problem

This is water damage

I had purposefully recreated this damage by running a hot shower and leaving the phone in the room. The water gets between the plastic/glass and the screen, giving that gas on water effect. Unless it's severe, it doesn't effect the view of the phone when it is on, but you can still have them replace it At least I did.

Re: Possible screen problem

I had the same problem and now my touch screen doesn't work and the water damage indicator is red. Can I buy a new screen off of eBay for cheap? I saw some like the P3700 and it looked like it might work but I don't know.
