Had my phone at the repair center today to get the stylus magnet repaired but it fell out again, so I opened up the phone myself to replace it again and as I removed the housing, the gold connector fell out along with a orange square film and a round silver dot.

That is the htc service manual for the Diamond. I don't know if it has been posted here before but I found it over on xda. I hope it helps you!

Thanks... I've seen a couple manuals and tutorial pieces but they mostly show the GSM models, unfortunately. And none that I've seen mention what those pieces actually are. Walked away from it tonight and will take a look at it again tomorrow and see if it powers up and is functional without those pieces. I guess if everything works OK maybe I just won't worry about trying to get the pieces reattached.

Thanks a bunch. I'm trying to replace my vibrator motor off an ebayed broken phone. I plan on learning how to disassemble on that one so I know how to do it right on my phone.

Could you give us the internal memory chip number?

Given that we now have Android running on the device, I wonder if it would be possible to replace it with a microSD by hacking the board.
