Cdma Diamond Teardown!!

iv been looking for a tear down video of the gsm version of the diamond for a while. so far iv not found anything useful apart from an official gsm htc Diamond engineer service manual that has a complete teardown and rebuild guide all good quality pictures to accompany it. along with that i discoverd today that it includes a whole lot more information that you cant find anywhere on the net anyway i hope you all enjoy reading it cant remember where i got it had it since last year well before i got diamond (jan 09)

The Diamond tear down was done by a friend of mine who is an employee of Sprint.. He was gracious to tear one down, take pictures, and send them to me for posting here...

Hey

Thank you for the tear down pics but im having trouble finding the Vibration motor and a part number. My diamond is out of warrenty and the motor is broke or the connection is bad. Could you help a guy out? Thanks

I'll ask the guy who did the tear down to see if he can get the part number.. I'll let you know what he can do

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Yeah that would be great if you can find a part number. Can you also point out the motor itself? I cant seem to find the typical motor/weight setup. Thanks

The first two are the front and back of the main board (My buddy cut removed all the plastic and whatnot, anything not related to chipset/antenna or anything even close to it) and he took these mainly as guide points as to what part of the phone you are looking at.













This is the back of the D-pad flipped out.
There is really only one section of the board with anything on it, the board that has the processor on one side, and the huge memory bank on the other (the 4gb internal).. If you are interested in what they (the specific chips) read on the stamp on any of them, just let me know and I will find out for you... Our fellow member phr0zen, found here a Bill of Materials for the GSM HTC Diamond..

Hi! My Hardware Keypad is Not working completely from Left side. Your Photos will be of great help but I am only able to see just 2 Phottos rest link is broken i guess. Can u please repost the photos.

Anyone able to help identify a couple of pieces on this board? I'm trying to figure out what the stand-up gold connection is on the upper right of the photo ... and the square gold and black piece to the left of the 43 (also upper right of the photo).

Had my phone at the repair center today to get the stylus magnet repaired but it fell out again, so I opened up the phone myself to replace it again and as I removed the housing, the gold connector fell out along with a orange square film and a round silver dot.

That is the htc service manual for the Diamond. I don't know if it has been posted here before but I found it over on xda. I hope it helps you!
