hmm... thats not a bad idea.. sounds like it could work although i'm not sure how accurate or easy the sensor is.. also, i'm not sure how easy it is to program the sensor to turn of the screen.. if all that is possible, i don't think it could be too hard.. maybe now that the deal is out there somone with more experience can try to do it? sounds like it would be very usefull tho!

I wish they made some sort of ambient light sensor that they could put right beside the speaker that would sense if the brightness of light goes down while you're on a call and turn off the screen.

I know about the ambient light sensor. From what ive seen on my phone its flakey at best. My screen dims and brightens every couple of seconds for no reason other than the sensor thinks it got brighten then darken when nothing changed in the room. Maybe a combination of both these sensors for better accuracy?
