Smile Re: DIY Black battery cover

Yesturday I followed the instructions on dying the back cover and stylus of my Diamond. It came out very well and looked great. Today I look at it and I notice it is starting to fade on the back of the battery cover. I used the RIT Dye,black. Is there any reason its fading and rubbing off now? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Svtracer, I did this and the exact thing happened...I thought I did something wrong. But trust me, every so often buff it with a napkin or denim for like a week. It will completely stop bleeding, I did this over and over for a week straight and now it does not bleed, even with my hands wet.

you have to remove the red from the cover first, using a dye remover... the color will still be there but it will be very light in tone, then you can put lighter colors... not sure how great they'll come out tho

Re: DIY Black battery cover

I just completed the transformation. It looks beautiful to say the least.

However, my camera screen now has some rainbow tint. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Thanks.

Same problem here too. I was thinking of trying rubbing alcohol and a q-tip or some kind of Windex.

I just take the back cover off now it takes better pictures.

Re: DIY Black battery cover

i always take pics with my cover off anyway... so this is a moot point for me. but when i dyed my cover there was no noticable change to the camera cover
