-Chrome looks tacky as heck and scratches like butter (already have a tiny scratch in the chrome after 4 days and i never have a single mark on any of my phones). -It does feel much much larger even at only 3-4mm thicker, its also taller. It must be the curves and how its rounded but it feels a lot bigger in the hand and it much heavier. -The build quality of the Diamond seems sturdy and flawless and the Pro already has a few nasty flaws in build quality. The dpad is uneven (see pro thread about it, but it sticks up on one side basically), i think the earpiece is a little worse (tiny tiny bit), the slider keyboard is horribly designed. When the phones closed, the keyboard can twist 5 degrees or so either way to the top portion. Also when you tap the screen the two halves of the phone "clack" together (top hits the bottom half tapping the screen). And of course the moving part (keyboard) will be the weak point and first to break. VERY disappointed in the build quality for a $600 "pro" business device Overall im FAR from impresssed to resign from out of contract SERO and drop money even if it is a cheaper $260 than Pro's normal price. |

One thing I forgot to mention was I found the size of the keys on the keyboard to be too small. Smaller than the Tilt if I'm not mistaken so that would defeat the purpose of having the KB for me... |

Re: Diamond may be all I need
yeh the keys are quite a bit smaller to cram 5 rows in.
Like i said overall its a good device, but personally im not paying and resigning for something built like a piece of junk |

Re: Diamond may be all I need
I feel good now to just chill until the Pro can be picked up on Ebay for about $300 like the Diamond can be now. By then some of the quirks will be resolved and we will hear whether the build quality is so poor that the things are falling apart or holding up.
Then if it is looking good I'll pawn off my Diamond on my wife |

Re: Diamond may be all I need
I read yesterday that the Treo Pro may be available on Sprint in the near future. If so my wife gets a free Diamond and I'll be paying full boat for the Treo.

Re: Diamond may be all I need
I really wanted to like this phone but I've decided to send it back. I have a new appreciation for the old Palm OS and my Centro. I wanted WM because it is so much more sophisticated. It has a long way to go before it is anywhere close to being as efficient for the USER as the Palm's OS. I may go with a Treo Pro if/when available on Sprint but I bet it will probably take me longer to get basic things done compared to my Centro. I've decided I don't want a phone unless it has a hardware keyboard on the face. Multimedia is not that important to me but I can do it with the Centro. I realized over the last couple of weeks that my life revolves around Exchange/Outlook calendar, tasks, contacts, etc. and it's much quicker to veiw and edit those items on my Centro. I have collected a bunch of 3rd party software for the Centro over the years but even out of the box it's much quicker to use. Not near as cool though. I loved the look of the Diamond.

Re: Diamond may be all I need
I know 4GB is not enought for what this phone really can do, but if anyone wants to buy from memory such as 16GB of memory I have the connection to where you could get it at a cheap price. Just let me know

Re: Diamond may be all I need
Well, I went from the diamond to the pro and I must say I'm happy. yeah, the keyboard twists a little and the keys are kinda small, but ya know, I still type much more efficient with it. My dpad sticks up ever so slightly on the left side, but my diamonds dpad stuck up all the way across. It's heavier, but feels better in my hand. I don't have the lag issue with my speed dial contacts like I did with the diamond. I do like the burgundy/black color scheme only because it matches my SUV better. Plus now, I'm not gimped at 4GB. With the rom being at 270MB for program storage, I don't have to delete other programs to make room for new ones or take up that precious 4GB of space. TO each his own, the diamond is a good phone. I'd rather have the TP. OH and btw....my sound quality is better than my diamond.
