Re: HORRIBLE Flaw that may cause me to return the Diamond.

Man - I love my WM phones, but can't imagine using one as an alarm clock. I use a $10 battery operated clock when I travel (which is most of the time) - it's never failed me.

WRT freezing - you either have a bad HW device (exchange it), or have loaded some bad SW. My Diamond has not frozen yet.

This is extremely dangerous to me because A)I use the Diamond as my work alarm and B)My fiancee sometimes drives at 4 or 5 am to work and she calls me when she is sleepy so she can stay awake.

This issue just happened AGAIN! This morning was one of the mornings my fiancee was working and driving at 5 am and I had my alarm set to wake me up. I woke up randomly and went to hit my phone power button to see what time it was and I couldnt. The light was frozen on the circle button. I knew it had happened again. I had to pull the battery and reset it. When it got on I saw it was 6:19 and I had a text from my fiancee letting me know she was at work. So this is dangerous to me to have missed that text, a possible call and my alarm if I never would have woken up.

Has anyone else had this issue? I thought I remembered seeing it somewhere early on but havent seen anything since. I cannot have this happening. I dunno if setting it to not sleep while charging will help avoid it in the future but I simply CANNOT have this happening. I am at my 30 days so I am contemplating returning it if this is a known issue or has happened more often with others.
First off, buy a real alarm clock, that's why they were invented. Use the phone as a back up if you need. Secondly, if it's freezing while charging over night, then stop charging it over night at least until you find out what the problem is.

Serously, this sounds like "My teeth hurt when I pull them out" " Then stop pulling them out!"

Like the comparison, but disagree here. Charging a phone overnight should not freeze it; like the OP, if I have a phone that cannot handle being connected to a charger for the several hours "overnight" means to me, then I won't have that phone in the first place. Thankfully, it seems to be an occasional hardware niggle that causes this - which means a warranty / CS / insurance / whatever replacement might be just what he needs.

Exactly.

What if every woman in the world didn't have a fiance, would there be no women in the work place? Then there is the issue of driving while sleepy or falling asleep. If she is already dazed from being sleepy, i don't recommend being on the phone in rush hour traffic. You said the bug in your diamond was "dangerous". Nothing is more dangerous than a woman behind the wheel of a car while talking on the phone.::

My point is, trust me dude, both of your desires to chat with each other every waking moment will subside.

Here is a list of things she can do if God forbid she can't reach you for 20 minutes while driving.

1.change her schedule
2.roll down all windows
3.blast music
4.drink coffee
5.car pool
and last but not least

Number 6......

Umm, notice I said "until you find out what the problem is". I never said this is normal and live with it. I am only saying that there are real live alternative to relying on the phone.

Re: HORRIBLE Flaw that may cause me to return the Diamond.

I have both a Sprint Diamond and the Sprint Touch Pro, and both units have froze up while charging overnight. The strange thing is that both will freeze up at the same time. I have stock Sprint Roms on both units and not much software is loaded(nothing listed in the Startup Folder or event databases.)

Re: HORRIBLE Flaw that may cause me to return the Diamond.

I have used a mogul and a touch as an alarm clock with no problems. It was eaiser for me because I had just moved across country and was staying with friends on their couch for a few months...so the phone was perfect.

I got a Touch Pro last week and its frozen twice while charging overnight. It hasnt done it in a couple days....and the only difference I can see is that I have hard reset twice, and not installed so much stuff. For me, I think it was a program that I installed that was made for a diamond. I'm not sure though. IO am taking it one day at a time...installing one program, letting it charge overnight...if no freezes...install the next thing...and so on...until it freezes. Then I remove it and see if it freezes the next night. I bought TEP just in case I go past the 30 days to exchange it.

Re: HORRIBLE Flaw that may cause me to return the Diamond.

Hey guys I just saw you posted in my old thread. I actually did end up returning my Diamond unfortunately, as this issue was just too dangerous to me, and also I permanently lost my internal storage too.

I was reading over on Sprintusers that this freezing happens when Sprint pushes over the air updates or something at night. That could explain docangle having his diamond and TP freeze at the same time.

I just wonder why it affects few people randomly and not everyone if they are doing over the air updates. I dunno guys, just food for thought.
