I've always found you must first activate the data connection by starting an internet explorer session, then start internet sharing, then hit connect and then connect the cable. Let me know if that helps.

This cab works great BUT i still get occasional issues with tethering..it connects for a short while then disconnects when activesync decides to interfere. Here is what worked for me:

Go to
-Connections >USB to PC>change USB connection to Disk Drive
-Uncheck ask about connection type

Go to
-Activesync>connections> uncheck synchronize all pcs using this connection

Go to (on pc)
- activesync> connection settings>uncheck open activesync when my device connects

Now run internet sharing, plug device into PC, and it works great at that point. I just undo everything I did after tethering to get normal activesync working again.

Do this eveyrtime you want to tether, re-check when you are done.

try using multiple usb ports
try deleting all activesync connections in phone
try deleting device from activesync in pc

Awesome this cab works great, running Vista 64-Bit posting tethered now. I used the cab on page 1, thanks OP.

works even better and faster than the cab I have on my Diamond because it skips a step or 2.


All I do is on my TP, Start Internet Sharing, hit Connect, then plug in my USB 2.0 cable and I am on. 1687 kbps down.

I upgraded my phone (HTC TOUCH PRO) to NFSFAN winmobile 6.5 ROM, now tethering won't work again. Anyone have any ideas?

*never mind I figured it out*

DO NOT INSTALL THE INTERNET SHARING FIX CAB!!! It breaks internet sharing on this ROM lol. I did a hard reset, now tethering works fine.

ok so heres my question i tried to

do the registry edits before and when i couldn't get it to work i call sprint and asked what i had to do to get it to work their way the told me the only way was to down grade my plan as i have the everything plan i guessing as a way for them to charge me for this feature but with my current plan will this work or will i need to down grade my plan to use this? thanks in advan

opened internet sharing, selected sprint. connected to my netbook. went to a few websites including this one and all was well. now i just gotta wait to see if sprint could see anything

There is NOT such a file called "HTC_CM_Guardian.exe" in the /device/windows on my Sprint Touch Diamond WM6.1 (CE 5.2.20764 (Build 20764.1.4.3) ROM 2.00.651.7. So far, I can't flash my ROM, nor make "ForceCellConnection" change to stay after trying every trickies you guys said.

i Just used a plain ol reg editor and so far they've stayed put. I haven't done a soft reset or anything though
