From looking at that surface, it shouldn't be difficult to paint at all. Just need some painters tape to cover the camera strip. Take non-metallic model paint (flat black or whatever other color you want), do 3 even coats on the outside and inside. It should be quick and simple. |

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
Engine paint is meant for high-heat and is usually metallic. Make sure that's not gonna affect your reception or the functionality of the phone before you go forward with that. It's a good idea in concept because that type of paint will withstand very high temperatures (so you know it won't fade), but at the same time, IMO it's not worth losing functionality on the phone.

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
i guess the simple solution would be to get a case. maybe a rubber one that covers just the back with the hole for the camera, much like a case for an iphone. but then getting the stylus out....?

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
It shouldn't. Non-metallic model paint usually dries pretty fast. I'd say it'd take 1 day to do 3 coats (in and out). Usual procedure would be 1 coat, let it sit for 1 hour (2 hours if you want to be extra careful; flat surface w/ little to no dust in the room), 2nd coat, same...3rd coat...same...then after the 3rd coat is done, just let it sit for several hours and should be dry after 4 horus. If you want to speed the drying process up, put the case under a lamp where the light is shining directly on it.
If you want to add a clear coat or 2, that's up to you, but that obviously would add more time and same procedure. |
