You get the option to format internal storage or not...

Lets all take a moment to re-read this thread. Then note the original comment on this option was in reference to clear storage, which offers the option to clear either one or both, not on the actual hard reset itself. while it would be cool if the hard reset actually gave the option to save or delete the internal storage... i somehow highly doubt that it will be there. That being said, are you two absolutely sure that the answer has already been given? If so please quote the answer and make sure it's not CNeufeld's response to quarky42

Re: Hard reset not the same as the manual

There's two ways to wipe your machine...
1) Hard reset using a spasm inducing combination of keys while pressing the Power button to turn the phone on. This method WILL NOT wipe the 4GB of flash memory (AKA Internal Storage), and there's no option to do so at that time. When I used this option, the entire contents of my flash memory were still there, so re-installing everything was pretty painless (as I had a folder of all my CAB files).

2) Use the "Clear Storage" control panel item. This option will allow you to clear the RAM/ROM OR the 4GB of flash memory OR both. But if you can't get into your system, this isn't really an option.

Re: Hard reset not the same as the manual

Thanks Clint & Puff, this is what I expected (but too lazy to confirm on my diamond) as the device seems to treat the internal storage as any other flash memory (i.e. micro sd card).
