Hey everyone!


Will a TP/TP2 ROM work on a Diamond? (thinking ROM layouts/themes are different?). I'm going to go ahead and try some anyways. Just wondering if other Lurkers feeling the same way.
I'm just getting bored and frustrated with trying most Diamond ROMz here.

I'm in various Kitchens ... trying some borking...
Right now, I like the PPCk-BuildOS.

No, you cannot use ROMs for other devices on the Diamond. Most of the stuff in a ROM is not device specific (EXT packages, SYS, etc.), but some of the xip is and the OEMDrivers are. If you flash another device's ROM to your Diamond, it will not boot (though I think you can get into boot-loader and flash another ROM...so it's not bricked).

Yep, your right! I just tried borking one in PPCk-BuildOS ... I knew as soon as I saw the TP picture in the ROM Update Utility... I said what the hell, and continued. The utility wouldn't even let me brick my phone. It just gave me an ERROR message, so I couldn't go any further than that.


I like the Max Manila tho...

DANG! it says its loaded! IT IS! 185MB worth.

I guess my rough diamond wasn't up to a full meal like that...

I'm going to still explore the Max Manila ... looks shiny. (I like the bignadad themes)

Max manila is just a mod for sense 2.5. The previous version works fine on the vga-port sense 2.5.1921 that everyone is using.
