Please carefully re-read my post above. I said that T-Mo was the first telco to get the TP2 followed by Sprint NOT the opposite. I don't want to get into a back and forth argument about what we both acknowledge to be pure speculation. At this point all I know is what I have read and so do you. HTC per reports has said that the HD2 is coming to a US carrier (you can read that on several of the top websites for smart phones). This is what led to the speculations of who will get it. T-Mo was the carrier most speculated would get it. When word came out that Peter Chou said Sprint had not approached him, that led to further speculation that Sprint was not going to carry the HD2. The thread I pointed to basically says what this whole thread on PPCGeeks has been saying. No one knows which carrier the HD2 will go to. If history repeats itself, the HD2 (like the HD1) will go to no US telco. At this point anything you say and I say are pure speculation. I am just reciting what I have read on "trusted" sites like Engadget and PPCGeeks amongst others. They have been known to get things wrong. However in the long run neither you or I are in possession of any specifics regarding the HD2. We will just have to wait and see who if anyone carries the phone. At this point I don't care if Sprint carries the device because if they don't provide me with a reasonable WinMo upgrade path from my TD, I will simply switch carriers (Verizon has the Imagio and AT&T has the Pure. Both devices are what I am looking for). It would be great if Sprint got the HD2 but I would settle for the TD2 (which supposedly Sprint insiders have said was coming...it's 2 months+ since the TP2 was released online and only now I can go into a Sprint store and buy one. Who knows when or if the TD2 will ever be released). I know not to fully trust any rumors and I am not holding out for Sprint to release a TD2 or HD2. When my wife's contract is up with Sprint like mine is now, I will evaluate the choices available to us and go with the carrier that has the phone(s) which meets our needs. If Sprint has what we need, I will stay with them else go elsewhere. I buy based on what's available and not what may be. This is not a contest of whose speculations are right or wrong since we both agree that they are just that (speculations).

We didn't have concrete information that sprint was getting it but it only made sense that they would. And low and behold all of the carriers got the TP2. The point of my other post was not to say you were wrong but to suggest that it's to early for you to just rule sprint out.

Take a look at the following article "Sprint Touch Pro2 Spotted and Dated". Look carefully at the date of the article and the posts. These were made long before Sprint released the TP2. It usually doesn't get more concrete than actual photographs of a cell phone bearing the carrier's logo. Note the posted "release date" of mid-June. Clearly this was off by a few months but the picture of the phone based on what we know now was correct.

I read it. The point of the link was to reference the quote by Peter Chou not debate its merits. Assuming the quote is true and taking Mr. Chou at his word (and barring evidence to the contrary), the logical conclusion is that at the time the quote was made Sprint was not planning on carrying the HD2. I agree nothing is etched in stone but with so little inside information leaked about the HD2 US destination(s), you have to go with what was said by Mr. Chou. Sprint is neither confirming nor denying this statement. Until Mr. Chou retracts his statement or Sprint makes an announcement, his statement regarding the HD2 stands as the only insider information regarding the HD2 and Sprint.

A Sprint employee posted a month or so ago that a Diamond replacement would be out around the end of Nov, so let's hope there's a nice surprise soon....though my gut feeling is that it wont be the HD2, but a TD2/Whitestone, which at this point I'm not sure how I feel. the 528mhz cpu's are outdated. I may pick it up for now, just to get the larger screen....would love to get manila 2.5 on it.

I'm really surprised we havent got any info on this.....thats what piss' me off about sprint

But dont you think phonearena would have a date slated for it if this was true? A Sprint employee told me to keep checking the site for realease date information. So maybe phonearena has ties with Sprint? I have been waiting for this phone, I'm out of contract and have been wanting to upgrade. (I hope SERO Sprint customers can get it...haha)

Yeah... I'm to say the least very annoyed with Sprint.
Angela from Dan@Sprint.com has told me now that there is no longer a chance of the TD2/Whitestone before the end of the year. This is the same person who told me that it was being released the end of Q3....
I'm jumping ship as soon as the HD2 get here... I'm hoping AT&T rather than T-Mobile.... But who knows...

guys we all in the same dilemma of SPRINT not telling us whats coming, but if you take into consideration that every time you call and ask them for their "SUPER SECRET I CANT TELL ANYONE" Device that is coming, out of the bat we should know that it is something big because they are paying attention to Verizon's lineup; they are killing every major cell carrier right at the moment when it was always sprint getting the latest and greatest. my point is lets sit down and wait because I'm pretty sure sprint wont let us down. it is obvious that SPRINT have something cooking in the oven, lets just wait and it will be worth the wait.

now sh*t like this really pisses me off....we patiently wait, and the only option they give us is the TP2? wtf? Not everyone wants to carry a damn brick.

Sprint is really effin up here, they're already losing customers left & right...they need to step it up!

well I hope you're right....but I know there are people watching the FCC website for new devices coming, and we aint hearing nuttin.

exactly, or how about another android phone....I think he was saying Verizon is killing it, cuz it sure aint Sprint.



I don't mind waiting alittle longer, now that we got Manila 2.5, it's helping ease the pain.
