Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

I didn't know phones and interfaces could be "gay". Not cool

Anyway.... Really excited about a 3.6" TD2 coming to Sprint. 3.2" didn't seem like a big enough jump from my Diamond. The TP2 is just too big for me and I have lived without a hardware keyboard for a while now. I actually wanted to jump ship to the Hero but it looks like it'll require a new plan. I've been eligible for an upgrade for a couple months already and itching for an upgrade. This is very good news to me

I'm in the same boat as you. Upgrade eligible and wanted the hero but I'm not willing to change my plan. Hoping TD2 comes out. If not I'll have to settle for the TP2.

Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

If the TP2 was cheaper I might have upgraded to it already. It's still a huge brick but the price was the deal breaker. Just didn't want to "settle" for a $350 phone.

Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

Agreed, James. Sprint has been kinda slack this year. They were the first to feature the TP and the TD; and this year...they let carriers which never even had the original models beat them to the punch..ala T-Mobile and its TP2 release. WTF is THAT all about? Maybe them investing so much money and resources to the Pre is to blame, eh? Who knows...

I need a TD2 on Sprint! Now, damn it!

Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

sumo correct if iam wrong the official windows 6.5 will be launched on oct 6 for verizon sprint at&t and t mobile and it would seem that they have the tp 2 verizon and at&t will be dropping the diamond to or whitestone around that time now iam not an insider but the sprint diamond 2 would have to pass fcc approval before release now i believe the verizon one as passed already and i think the at&t one has to so i wonder if the diamond 2 for sprint is even coming in october and one even better if sprint going to even get it the touch pro is fine and all but its to thick for me and not all of us want a keyboard at this point we all that want the diamond or the 3.6 inch whitestone might have to wait till next year so not cool sprint has to lead thats what people want got to be innovative verzion always that last to launch high end smart phones guess they are not this time

Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

The more I think about it the more I think sprint isn't getting this phone. At least not anytime soon. I think most of their efforts are being focused on the HTC Hero. I wonder what is going to be considered the replacement phone for the diamond. I mean in terms of insurance replacement. I know when I had my HTC Touch (Vogue) replaced they sent me a diamond. I know they have plenty on diamonds now but in the future when they run out of diamonds, what will they replace it with. I think it would have to be the TP2. I was thinking the hero but it has a different OS. They would have to give you a WinMo PRo phone.

Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

dont get me wrong the hero looks cool and i like the android and htc ui running on it but i really think for me i need a bigger screen size its just like when there were only 1.3 mega cam on phone a couple years back then they started rolling out with 2 mega pix cam now you can get them in 3 mega pix and 5 mega pix the point is the touch hd never came to the us pissed me off and even samsung have 3.7 inch screen phone now not saying that the screen size is the most important but really now is it did not matter the tp2 would have came with the 3.2 inch they have to drop the diamond or something close what about the htc leo wonder if that will evey come to the us its not like people in the us dont want these phones this sucks big time

It is my understanding that if the Sprint version of the diamond 2 is the same as the Verizon Whitestone, then it would not have to pass FCC again. AT&T's version did because it is a GSM phone that uses different frequencies. Sprint should just be able to piggyback the Verizon FCC approval. I don't believe that the FCC has to publish it once it is already approved. I believe that Version did this many times in the past when FCC reports leaked of Sprint phones, and then Verizon came up with their version and we never noticed any FCC info that they were going to carry it.

Time will tell what happens. Either we will get a leak, a picture, or a release date from Sprint.
