Re: Touch pro 7 (touch pro 3 but rename) EPIC FAIL
You brought up HP and Palm. Did you know that the Pre 2 is going to have a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor and 512MB or RAM? Same specs as every other phone coming out in the next year. Interesting. So, is it really HTC or Sprint, or is it us? Are we setting our expectations too high too soon?
Whenever a new technology (let's say a new mobile processor) is announced it takes at least 6 months before the first products roll out, and at least a year before that technology is wide-spread and used frequently. So, Snapdragon was first put in a device in Q4 2009, right? So that means we are at the point in time when the technology is widely used. That also means that we are still several month before any new technology comes to the consumer market. And we know that Sprint is rarely the first to have something big like a brand new processor (although the EVO and Epic do not conform to that statement as they are top-of-the line as far as specs). |

Re: Touch pro 7 (touch pro 3 but rename) EPIC FAIL
Seriously, the only things that could even almost make me think about dumping my Evo for this phone is
1: the keyboard 2: MS Office And those things are absolutely not enough to make me consider it. HTC needs to make an Evo with a keyboard, and Google needs to surprise us all with an office suite in the next version of Android. The Epic is pretty close, but the screen is a little smaller than the Evo's,m and the keyboard is not as nice as the Touch Pro 2 (and presumably this Touch Pro 3). I just can't fathom why anyone with an Evo would be getting excited about this phone though. The Evo has better specs, plus all the stuff that is wrong with WinMo 7 (Win Phone, whatever). |

Last time I read the Pre 2 was said to have a TI Omap...but either way it makes no difference..as its coming out this year..HTC 7 Pro is not... Also EVO has the old snap dragon processor too..the ones that have the new ones are myTouch HD, HTC Lexicon, Desire HD...but at the time it was ok. Quote:

The only spec the Touch Pro 3 wins is it has a keyboard. And even that is a turn off to a lot of people. Last edited by BlackDynamite; 10-19-2010 at 03:16 AM. |

Yep, Pre 2 comes out on Friday in France, and Engadget's review of pre-production hardware was not pretty. They are saying pretty much what you guys on here are: they are putting out old hardware instead of pushing the envelope.

Also HTC 7 Pro has a surround sound which is a feature >.> But I was looking at specs and they seem to be weird.... In engadget report they said pro7 has 576 ram with a screenshot: HTC 7 Mozart and 7 Trophy set out to conquer the WP7 world, 7 Pro coming to Sprint next year -- Engadget but now on their website it says 448mb HTC - Products - HTC 7 Pro - Specification Both numbers look weird to me :/..unless the total ram is 576mb and 128mb is reserved for something leaving 448mb usable? IF its at 576mb ram though it would be more then an Evo....though both also differ on internal showing 8gb and 16gb space...so also a possibility of 2 different editions? or maybe the sprint version is more buffed in specs due to the delay and on site they have international version :/ Last edited by gTen; 10-19-2010 at 06:42 PM. |

All Im saying is in overall specs they are about even...but in terms of release dates..releasing it in 2011 would make it a medium end phone at best.
